Thanks to all that helped on this post but so far I have found nothing new. I do not think the Richard Womack 1910 in Coryell County is my Richard Mansel Womack as he is listed as a physician. I also tracked him on the 1880 census with his wife Susan and daughter Roxey and then again on the 1930 census with his wife Susan and living with their daughter Roxey. So that pretty much eliminates him. Hugh

Looking to find out what happened to Richard Mansel Womack and his wife Martha E Higgins? Richard's father was Abner Pryor Womack who is buried in the Womack White Cemetery in Bosque County Texas. The last info I have on Richard and Martha is a 1900 Bosque County Texas census record. Then the trail disappears. Would like to know when they died and where they are buried. Any help is appreciated.

Hugh

Please everyone keep in mind that there are no male Womacks that are 100% American Indian. The indian blood can only come from the female side. Sometime you may find a male that was adopted, or was a stepson, that had the Womack name. That is the only way.

Does your family connect with a Maggie Elizabeth Womack b. 1903 d. 1973 (m. Fate Hester) and her brother Willie b. 1894 -?? Their father, I believe was a James Womack b. 1863. They lived in Etowah County AL. Maggie was my father's step mother, and the only grandmother I knew. I'd like to trace her family back at least a few generations.

I am looking for information on Ulysses Samuel Womack born abt 1883 to 1885 in Missouri He married Golda Warren in 1910, and they had one child, Clarabell Jewell Womack who was born August 13, 1912. Ulysses and Golda seperated when Jewell was approximately 1 to 2 years old. I am trying to find parents and syblings for Ulysses, and perhaps additional marriages.

I have already sent an e-mail thanking you for your assistance. And... you probably already have the following information, but just in case... Ulysses and his wife Golda had one daughter Clarabell Jewell Womack, born August 13, 1912 in St Louis, MO. She died December 5, 1990 in Cape Girardeau, MO. His wife Golda died October 26, 1918. You may or may not have that information, or need that information.

Again... thank you.

Re: Womacks of Etowah County, Alabama

My Womacks were mainly in the Aurora and Alabama City communites of Etowah.

I'm not familar with Maggie Elizabeth Womack.

My Gr grandfather, John W. Womack had a son named James L. Womack who was born about 1859 in Paulding County, GA. He died sometime between 1900 and 1910 in Marshall County. Three children, Louis Leatin, Alice Idella and James Eli.

There are a couple different Womack lines in Etowah County, AL. A second and unrelated (except for a connection waaaay back) settled in the Hokes Bluff area.

I don't have enough on the other Womack lines to be able to help, sorry.

Your best bet would be to check on Womacknet.com it's one of the bigger genealogy sites for Womack researchers.

We also have a chat group on Yahoo.com. Type in "Womack Genealogy". That's also a good place to ask.

Good Luck!
