I am curious why you think John F Womax's grandfather was named William?

John F Womax's parents were Jesse Womax/Womack and Lucinda Miller. Besides being in Shenandoah Co, VA in 1850, Jesse "Wamux" was on the 1820 Census of Fauquier Co, VA. I cannot find Jesse in 1830 or 1840. He married Elizabeth Malin on 6 May 1818 in Shenandoah (his name given as "Jesse Wamix"). He married Lucy Miller on 13 Aug 1844 in Warren Co, VA (as Jesse Wommack).

I am pretty sure Jesse was the son of Peter Womack and Christina Utterback, who married 29 Nov 1786 in Culpeper Co, VA. Peter Womack had a brother named Jesse. Peter appears on tax lists of Culpeper and Fauquier Cos, VA in the late 1700s and early 1800s.

Let me know if this fits with your info, and I will continue with Peter's ancestry.

Yes, I am interested. I do have the 1850 census you have mentioned, but the information I have on his parents is sketchy. Also, I only know that his grandfather's name was William. So, any more help you are willing to share will certainly be most helpful indeed!
Thank you very much.
My e-mail address is: sljuhl1234@yahoo.com
Sincerely,
Sandy Juhl

John F Womax was the son of Jesse Womack/Womax and Lucinda Miller, and he was listed with his parents in the 1850 Census of Shenandoah Co, VA (Page 131A, House 1816). I have more info on Jesse Womack/Womax and his ancestry if you are interested.

http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~reburke/lines/data/w...

Jesse Womax was married to Mary C. Marple, b. 12 Apr. 1860, Ft. Frederick, Maryland per her son Charles William Womax's death record or in Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia very near there per her death record. Charles gave the information on her death record, but he did not relate the names of her parents. Jesse's parents were John F. & Rebecca Hill Womax. We believe John was born in Maryland around 1846--Rebecca born in Virginia around 1844.
"Katie" Catherine's brother, Carl Lee Womax, married Thelma Lucille Bonifant Jan 1920 in Philadelphia, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. They had one child, Dorothy Mae Womax who married Tella Milton McCoy. They had four children and many grandchildren. The Bonifant family can be traced back to Ireland. Catherine's brother Charles William Womax married first Myrtle V. Harris, children: Roscoe D., and Paul Lee Womax. Charles married next Adaline G. Hubec, child: Lionel A.B. Womax. Roscoe & Paul both married and have children.
Sandy
sljuhl1234@yahoo.com

Womacks--Womax

QUESTION: Does anyone know anything about the Indian Reservations in or near Coshocton County, Ohio? Or where I can find out more about them?
I'm looking for family members of Womax-Womack who had family members associated with the reservation or tribes there in the area.
Sandy
sljuhl1234@yahoo.com

Mary Womack Wadley

I am looking for help with my family tree. I am overwhelmed with all of the work done on the Womacks of Virginia. My GGGGG Grandmother was Mary Womack Wadley Whitnel. She married William Wadley 9 April 1767 in Goochland County Virginia. Her birthdate is abt 1752-1758. She died in 1814 in Rutherford County, TN. I have found all kinds of posting of where she fit in the Womack line, but cannot verify who her parents actually were. There doesn't seem to be alot of information about Mary before her marriage to William. If anyone has any help or guidance for me, I so appreciate it.

For the most part most of the Womacks tie back into the Womack line back in the late 1700's with Terry Womacks. Come visit the Womack researchers with the various spellings of our surname at:
www.womacknet.com or my personal website at; www.womacknet.net
