Just ran across your post which was dated 2001. Actually Lincoln A. was named Abraham Lincoln Wood by his parents when he was born on February 3, 1863, (from US cencus info) during the fury of the Civil War. Abraham had two brothers, Arthur C. and Victor Henry. I am a direct descendant of Victor. Abraham didn't like being called 'Abraham Lincoln' so he called himself Lincoln A. which is the way that it is on his headstone in the Lowell Cemetery. Uncle Lincoln, as everyone seemed to call him, was my father's great uncle. Lincoln's father was Cephas Wood of Ava, and his mother was named Ann Jones. Ann was the first of Cephas' three wives. Because this is all direct ancestry for me, I have a great deal of info in my geneology work. I am a bit surprised that you mentioned that your great grandfather was named Lloyd McKinley Wood, as our branch of the family always called him McKinley Lloyd Wood. That is the way his name is listed on his headstone at
