I did a little research this morning to see if I could connect Eula Mae to my Isaac Wood b. 1784 NC and died in Yell County in the mid-1850's. Didn't get back that far but I did find the following:
1910 Census of Brown, Muskogee, Oklahoma shows a Bonnie L. Wood living with Aurther and Eula. He has the same birth places for his parents as Eula does so even though he is listed as a "hired man", I have no doubt that this is Eula's brother.
Bonnie's WWI draft card lists him as Bonnie Leroy Wood b. Aug. 31, 1889 in Ark. He supports his unnamed mother in 1917. The SSDI lists his death as 21 Dec 1970 in Kern Co., Calif. You can find Bonnie and his wife Laurel on the 1940 census of Kern County with the notation that he had been living in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In 1940, Eula and Arthur, living in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with more children, have Eula's widowed mother living with them! Nancy Wood born in Arkansas. Her age on Ancestry is wrong as it is blurred. I'd GUESS maybe it says 83 not 53.
I've been at this a couple of hours now and need to quit. The trick will be finding Nancy, Bonnie Leroy and Eula Mae living together in 1900, hopefully with Nancy's husband still alive. I wonder where Nancy was in 1910 when she would still be alive yet she's not with either Eula or Bonnie. If you can find Nancy's husband, then work backwards into Arkansas where there are LOTS of Woods. :-)
