I'm back with more information on the Woodhams that I am seeking. On the 1910 census, I came across a Buren Woodham who was the step-father to Redden Harley Langston and his siblings. Buren's wife was listed as Rubie. Since Rubie was only 25 in 1910 and Redden was 14, does anyone know if Rubie was Buren Woodham's second wife? I doubt if Rubie was Redden's mother. Is this stuff confusing, or what? *g*

Attn: Jennifer Talley re: Henry Clayton Woodham

Hello Jennifer,

I have tried numerous times to reply to your email with no success. I hope that you search the message boards and see this message.

I don't have your Woodham family in my file. However, I have access to the census records and was able to locate your family quite easily in the 1920 and 1930 censuses. Your grandmother is listed as Robbie E Woodham, daughter of Clayton and Willie Woodham. Clayton died between 1920 and 1930.

I believe this is his entry in the Alabama Deaths, 1908-59 found on Ancestry.com

Name: Henry C. Woodham
Death Date: May 1923
Death County: Dale
Volume: 27
Roll: 2
Page #: 13303

This site has lots of Dale county data....

The USGenWeb Archives Project: Dale County, Alabama Archives

Under the vital records, marriages, I located this entry...

Woodham, H C TO Willie Chalker 02/06/1916 I-258

My first thought is that this would be Henry Clayton. However, I also located a 1900 and 1910 census entry that is a bit confusing. For 1900 there is a Henry and a Charles W who are brothers. But in the 1910 census, it is a Clayton W and brother Harry C who are living together. The only thing I can think of is that Clayton in 1910 should have been a Charles.

I will be happy to send you copies of the census records, if you can resolve your email problem.

Regards,
Michelle Woodham

Thomas Methvin Family

Mr. Woodham, I am the granddaughter of James Nathan Methvin, son of Thomas and M.C. Methvin. The records show they owned property in Dale County in 1850. At that time, Thomas was married to Charity and they had 2 children. Charity and Thomas had several more children. Charity apparently died giving birth to Charity. Thomas moved from Dale but returned to Dale county around 1868. His wife was a M.C. Methvin then. James was born in 1869, to them in Ozark, Alabama. I went down to Echo, Ozark and Dothon to research this information. I know Thomas owned land in Dale but other than that there is no information. There is only one Methvin buried in Dale county. I became aware that your family was founding fathers of this area. Also, you are writing the history of Dale County. Hopefully you can help me. Are you knowledgeable of any Methvins that lived in Dale County during this time. I would greatly appreciate your help. Please e-mail it to Sybil_Burt @TriHealth.com. My home computor is having some diddiculty at this time. Thank You Sybil Burt

My father-in-law is Jesse Edward Woodham and he lives in Louisiana. He's says his grandfather was Joe Woodham who lived in Ozark,Alabama. His father name was Alonzo Woodham, they called him Lonnie. Lonnie married Hattie Morrison and they lived in central La. He remembers going to a Woodham reunion in Alabama but it was a long time ago and he doesn't remember anything else. Any information that anyone has would be a great help. Thanks. If anyone has any information you may e-mail at vick@beci.net.

Woodham - Indiana

I've been trying to locate some family members in order to obtain some medical history information. The only information I have is the surname "Woodham" (could be maternal or paternal) and that I was born in Evansville, Indiana in 1969. Would you happen to know where I might go to find out about locating my family? I'd appreciate any reply.

Thank you.

--Kelly

Woodham

I'm searching for info on any Woodham families in Clearfield, Centre County, PA. that may be related to Marsden, Taylor, Haughton. Nicholas & Ellen Taylor of Newtown,Clearfield County, PA is the parents of Robert A. Taylor. Robert married Jane Marsden of Newtown in 1891. Story has it that a book was written about the Woodham family, which was Jane's grandmothers side, Ann Haughton Marsden was her mother so I figure the book was about Ann's mother's side of the family. Can anyone shed anything on this?
