Classification: Query
Surnames: Woodhouse, Poyner, Pitts
Hello,
I am an archaeologist working on a project near Jarvisburg in Currituck County, North Carolina, and I am trying to track down the genealogy (and other information) for the Woodhouse family, specifically the line containing the following family members:
Thomas Woodhouse (born around 1817) - Husband
Mary or Polly Woodhouse (born around 1814) - Wife
Edmond Woodhouse (born around 1840) - Son
Major or Mager Woodhouse (born around 1844) - Son
Laura Woodhouse (born around 1848) - Daughter
Thomas Woodhouse (born around 1853) - Son
Thomas may have been the son of Lancelott Woodhouse, who died around 1838.
Laura appears to have married an Enoch Poyner in the late 1860s or very early 1870s, and Laura died in 1872. Enoch Poyner was the son of the Reverend Nathan Poyner. Enoch and Laura may have had a son named Nathan. Enoch later remarried to Francis "Fannie" Pitts in 1875.
If you have any questions or have any information that could help me, you can contact me at sseibel@esinc.cc or call me at 919-212-1760.
Thank you,
-Scott Seibel
