Parentage of Jane Woodman, b 1743, m Benjamin Jackman?

Anyone have any proof of the parents of Jane Woodman, born abt 1743? According the "History of Boscawan & Webster (NH)", Lt. Benjamin Jackman, b 1743, married a Jane Woodman. It seems obvious that this would be the daughter of Joshua Woodman of Rowley, MA. But I can find no proof, incl a record of the marriage. Can anyone help?

woodmans of Morchard Bishop Devon England

Can anyone please help me. I'v just started my family tree & its been very easy, good job because i'm a novice.
My family where born & died in Morchard Bishop more or less
but i'v now hit a dead spot or dead end.
My grandfather William J Woodman was born in 1880 to a Jane Woodman out of wedlock. I'v found them on the 1881 census living with Janes Mother a widower who was married to a Simon-Peter Woodman he died in 1876 and she re married a William Godbear who it appears also had died by the time that census was done.
i found william with his grandmother again on 1891 census but no trace of Jane, i'v found her brothers. I then found a living uncle and spoke to him and he says Jane married a John Chudley in june 1891 in crediton he said they lived in west sandford until about 1918 when they moved to morchard bishop John Chudley died in 1927 and Jane in 1933 they are both buried in the Morchard Bishop Church Yard. But i cannot find them on either the 1891 or 1901 census. I'v found birth, marriage & death records on line, but can not link the two together or her to my grandfather.
Also her mother born elizabeth webber widowed by 1876, re married and widow again by 1891 then i'v lost her, i believe she died around 1898 but again cannot find anything concrete.

Has anyone whilst re tracing their woodmans come across this Chudley & godbear link??? any info would be most grateful.

thanks
Maxine Whitton (nee Woodman)

Also in this household is Walter Gunderman, nephew to John.

I've been researching the 1900 Galveston Hurricane and this census was taken about three months before the Hurricane hit. Hopefully this information will be of help to others who are also researching the victims and survivors of this Hurricane.
I am not related to this family, just passing on this information.
Charles Albert Woodman

My mother has been trying to locate Charles Woodman. We know he owned property in Wooster OH. In the mid 1800's. We can find not trace of him after that. It is believed he may be in a private cemetary in the area. He defies any public search. Thanks for the help
Brenda

Florine or Len Woodman

I am trying to find any information on Florine Woodman the daughter of Len Woodman. All I know on this family comes from a wedding announcement dated Aug 1942. It said she was the daughter of Len Woodman of Portage, Wi and she married Elmer Meyer in Opelika, AL. He was in the military and they were moving to Battle Creek, MI. I have no other information on her, except I know she died before 1947, but I don't know where. They had no children. She probably was born about 1915-1925. Does any one have any information on her or her father? I have tried census, city directories and marriage license, but nothing on her. Thanks

Dina,

Thank you so much for the information. My sister passed away on the 2nd of March and I have been busy with all her business, etc. Consequently I have not checked the e-mail until today. I would love to have your e-mail address or home address so that I can fully explain to you just what I do have on the Woodman family. I am curious, do you have any pictures? My husband's grandmother was Ida May Woodman and she died at age 28, so Ralph's father hardly knew her. We have no pictures of any of the woodman's.
I can hardly wait to go back through my information and compare notes.

Thanks again for your help.
Barbara Alice Wallace Roberts

Searching for information about the above. I am the grandson of Ida May Woodman Roberts, wife of Lee Roberts . Ida May died at age 27/28 when my father was very young. He never spoke of her, consequently I know nothing about her. A query that I had previously posted was answered and I did locate her grave and that of her parents, James H. and Louisa at the Hickey Cemetery in Stephenville, Tx. Would like to locate pictures of any of the Woodman descendants and information. Thank you for your help.

Levi WOODMAN b 1811 m. Joann NUTE b 1818

I am seeking any information on this branch of the WOODMAN family. Levi was the eldest son of Jonathan and Sally (LANE) WOODMAN. I believe they had 1 child, a daughter, Emily Augusta b. 1839, but later census records show a daughter Sarah L. b. 1854.

Sarah/Lilla does not appear in the 1860 census in spite of the fact that she would have been 6 years old. Emily is listed as living with her parents, Levi and Joann. In 1870 Sarah/Lilla is living with Levi and Joann, and Emily is living with her husband, Robert Blair and their infant daughter, Alma. In 1880 Lilla (Sarah) appears, living with her husband, Morris Moore, her son, Carl, and is listed as "granddaughter" with Joann listed as head of the household. Bacause Lilla and Sarah are the same age, and have been living in the Woodman household since at least 1870, I am assuming that Sarah and Lilla are the same person, and that she is the daughter of Emily Woodman Blair, until I can find proof to the contrary.

Can anyone help unravel this mystery?

Family Bible referenced online (Mass./Calif.)

About a year ago while Googling an ancestor, I obtained a link to a site which included a poem and transcription from a family Bible. The bible was given by Mary Baxter to her daughter Eliza Lambert Baxter on the occasion of Eliza's marriage to John L. Woodman in 1854 in Boston. Mary Baxter was my great-great-great-grandmother and I have been searching for several years for additional information on this family. I emailed the person who originally had the website, asking for any additional information or contact info for whoever submitted the Family Bible information, but never received an answer. The original site (which dealt with the Brockmeyer family) was here
http://www.home.earthlink.net/~maryhbrock/ and then a redirect was posted to here
http://www.brockmeyerfamily.com/ but as you can see, by now the site is totally gone.

I'm not sure how the Woodman family connected to the Brockmeyers (Eliza and John Woodman moved to Stockton, CA, in the mid 1850s and remained there), but if this Bible or any of the following names sounds AT ALL familiar to anyone, PLEASE do let me know! This is probably the only evidence of my great-great-great-grandmother's handwriting to have survived. Names are: John L. Woodman, Eliza Lambert Baxter, Eliza L. Woodman, Mary Milne Baxter, John Walker Baxter. All were originally from Massachusetts, and then in the later 1800s lived in Stockton, CA.

So I know this is very old.
I cannot find any connection to my family The last names of my family are Estill, Harding, Gardner, Waring.
If you have any Idea who he is please let me know.

Woodman/Smith family-Surrey, England 1796

My 5x grandmother was Hannah Woodman. She married William Smith Sept. 28, 1796 at St. Mary's Church, Lambeth, Surrey, England. Marriage record states they were married in the "presence of" Ben Woodman, Martha Woodman and Charlotte Woodman. Record said Hannah was from St. Mary's, Lambeth Parish. Have no idea what Hannah's relationship is to the Woodmans in attendance at the marriage. Parents?, Sisters and brother? Hannah Woodman Smith died July 1802 when living at # 9 Cumberland Row, Kennington Green, Surrey, leaving William with four young sons, William (1797), Benjamin (c 1799), Joseph (bpt Sept 1800) and Thomas (bpt July 1802). Hannah and William's eldest son (my 4x grandfather) joined the Hudson's Bay Company and came to Canada in 1813. Would like to establish what became of his family left in England.
Penny in Canada
copperp@telusplanet.net

woodman family tree

Just beginning my search, I know that two brothers came to US from England in 1642. My fathers name was Lawton Artuis Woodman, Born 7-15-1906 in Oklahoma, passed on 7-10-1977. his fathers name was Ora Artuis Woodman, Born in Androscoggin, Main on 7-26-1881, passed on Sept. 1971 in New Mexico. Ora Woodmans fathers name had only three letters in it (do not know what they were). Lawton Woodman married Sadie Lee Sharp. Her fathers name was Eli Sharp and mothers first name was Goldie. Lawtons mothers madien name was Maudie Garner. Lawton and Sadie had three daughters, Maudie Lee Woodman, Bobby Lousie Woodman and LaLita Artuis Woodman. LaLita is still living.
Any help from Main would help.
Thanks, LaLita

I know that in England there are still approx. 15 or so Woodman's listed in the London telephone book.
