The primary testing company for the Woodruff DNA Project has announced a discount on their 37-marker Y-DNA test available through June 24, 2009. The project also offers an additional discount. The discounted testing includes a free basic mitochondrial DNA test which yields information on the direct maternal line. This is a great deal and now would be a great time for Woodruff (and all variations) males to join the project and get the 37-marker Y-DNA test along with an mtDNA test for a great price. Several Woodruff males from various Woodruff lineages have joined the project and been tested (see the project's results page at http://dna.woodruffgenealogy.net/results.htm). We are always seeking more males from all Woodruff lines (including all variations such as Woodroof, Woodroffe, etc.) to join the project and get tested so we can find out more about the origins of the various Woodruff lineages and the relationships among the various lines and surname variations.
