Hello! I'm looking for any information I can get on John Woodward. He was married to Elva (Haynes) Woodward.

He had a son, Paul Woodward (1910-1984) who was married to Lorena (Hiatt) Woodward. Paul had a brother, Roscoe and 2 other brothers and 2 sisters who I have no info on (I'm getting this from an obit) I know Paul was born and died in Wabash Indiana. I know he lived for a time in Miami County, Indiana.

Paul had at least 3 sons and two daughters
Bill, Joe, Larry and Jo Ann, and Betty.

Larry is my grandfather.

I'm just tracing my name back as far as I can, so any info would be helpful. Thanks!

if you woould like any information added, please feel free to contact me. We are the descendants of Jesse Woodward, son of Captain Henry Woodward. Our family is from Lee and Wise counties, VA. Thanks to the generosity of Joe H, I recieved a copy of the Warren D Woodward and Naomi history of the family. I also have all of Washington's and Dinwiddie's letters to and about Henry, and have contacted the Bodleian Library, Oxford about the Fauqier letters to Lord Anson and the Earl of Bute. The J.D. Rockefeller Jr Library (Williamsburg VA) has copies of the letters also. I am looking for personal family stories and pictures from anyone who is a descendant of Capt Henry to be included in the book.

I found birth records of Abiathar, William, John, and Christopher, children of Squire and Lucy Hawes. They are listed on the Family Search site. No other information was listed other than birth dates. Squire was transcribed as Eugene but it is definately Esquire Woodward when you look at the documents.
Birthdates listed are:
Abiathar Woodward b. May 13 or 18, 1784 Wendell, Sunapee, NH
John Woodward b. May 7 1787 Wendell, Sunapee, NH
William Woodward b. Jun 25 1789 Wendell, Sunapee, NH
Christopher Woodward b. Dec 19 1792 Wendell, Sunapee, NH

Also found a Lemuel Harvey married Judith Hutchins...do you know if they are related to Judith or Jane Harvey Woodward? Lemuel b. 21 Jun 1755 Derryfield, Hillborough, NH d. 15 Apr 1827 Hatley, Stanstead, QC - he was the son of John Harvey b. abt 1730 and Susannah Purham b 1732 Grafton, Worchester, NH.

Hello everyone! I am new to Ancestry.com. I know most of you here are trying to find information on deceased persons but I am trying to find living relatives, so if anyone reading this thinks they can be of help please let me know.

I am looking for my father and three half siblings. My father's name is David Woodward, my two half brothers are David Jr. and Matthew and my sister's name is Kathy. In 1984 when David met my mother He and the kids were living in Hermitage, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville. I am not sure how long they lived there before or after. I do not know any of their DOB's or middle names, and I do not know the name of their biological mother. Kathy did leave a post on this website looking for me but unfortunately that was almost ten years ago ( I didn't see it until 2 months ago) and I am afraid that she will not come back to this site to see that I replied.

I have tried every avenue I can think of to try to find them, with the exception of hiring a private investigator which I do not have the funds for ( stupid recession) so if anyone has any tips for me as to how I can find them I would be ever so grateful. I'm sorry I took so much space. Thank you.

My grandfathers twin brother Edward Woodward emigrated to USA, in particular chicago iaround the 1910/1920 period.
His family eventually relocated to Bradenton Florida...Eddie and Audrey being his childre are both alive and still live in Florida.

This branch of the Woodwards originated in Somerset...if this is the same family. Edward and Arthur William were born 1889 in Nether Stowey, Somerset, UK

Edith Woodward , b 1830's, Scott's Hill Tenn was the dau of William Dabney Woodward, b 1800 and Sara Utley, both born in Wake NC. They migrated to The Scotts Hill Tenn area in the mid 1820's, Tishomingo Cty, MS in the late 1830's then to Rusk County Texas in the mid-1840's. Edith married Leroy in Rusk County, Texas, they moved to Hill county Tx late 1850's. I have a public Woodward family tree posted styled Jesse C Woodward. Jesse was an older brother of Edith's. Hello, Judith Woodward who married Franklin Hawes was the daughter of William Woodward and Jane Harvey of Wendell, Sullivan County, New Hampshire. Judith's sister Diana Woodard notice the extra w is gone) born 29 Oct 1816 also in Hatley Quebec died Oct 07 1899 in Floyd County, Iowa. Of William Woodward and Jane Harvey, there were ten children of this marriage. One of the dau.'s was Lucy Woodard born in 1810 (also in Hatley, Quebec, Canada) married to Patrick Sharon of either Ireland or Compton Quebec in 1833. Patrick and Lucy's son James Patrick Sharon married Mar 24 1878 to Alvira Ann Brown dau of Jacob Brown (brother to our David Brown who married Mary Robinson) and Elizabeth Ann Arnold.

William Woodward born bet. 1789 and 1791 in Wendell, NH was the son of Squire Woodward born June 21 1763 also in Wendell, NH died July 08 1845 in Hatley Quebec. William's siblings were Abiathar b. 1782, John bet. 1788 and 1808, Christopher Woodward born Dec 18 1792 in Wendell, NH. He died in Hatley 12 Apr 1882.

Squire Woodward's wife Lucy Hawes was born in Goffstown, NH and died July 1844 in Hatley, Quebec. Her parents were Obadiah Hawes and Tabitha Richardson.

If you would like I can send you a PDF descendancy from Squire Woodward etc. We HIGHLY suspect Squire to be a descendant of Thomas Woodward and Ann Young of Taunton MA to Smithfield, Providence County, Rhode Island. I am a descendant of Thomas and Ann (Young) Woodward's son Nathaniel's son Jethpa Woodward who went to Peacham, Vermont ca. 1782.

Squire Woodward very likely is related to Nehemiah Woodward born Jan 28 1751 and died in Bridgewater, Vermont in 1834 as their children were born in Wendell, New Hampshire from 1782 all the way unitl 1799. I am sorting old photographs from my mother's estate. Among them are "family friends" from some time ago who lived in Norwich, CT. Among the photos are one of a "Mr. Woodward" and one of a "Mrs. Woodward". Both are professional portraits taken by the Durgan studio in Norwich. I am unable to date them but judging from the clothing would guess late 1800's to early 1900's. The couple appear to be in their late 20's/early 30's. The only other information I can provide is the name of the other family - the Brigden's (also from Norwich). Perhaps both families were friends.

My goal is to get the photos into the possession of their rightful families. Do you have any information - like physical descriptions - you could provide to help us identify if these are "your" Woodwards?

Ok, made the connections, got the sources; Woodward's descended from Capt. Henry Woodward from SW Virginia (Big Stone Gap, and surrounding areas). Thank god they have the census records available; that helped tremondously. Just need to be careful of mispelled names and off-dates' found my grandfather Merle Woodward spelled 3 different ways on one document alone (Muriel,Merrell,Meril).

here and made her home with her sister, Mrs. W. P. Holton
who died in 1939, and since then with a niece, Miss Ava Holton.

Pallbearers will be Thomas C. Richardson, Carl Houghton,
Thomas W. Richardson,Robert French, Avery Sawyer, and Robert
Dickerman.

I have a Woodward tree and I can get cemetery marker photos. I have a pic of Mary Ella Woodward, dtr of Benjamin Beckwith and Elizabeth Evans Morgan Woodward.
Cornie, sister of Ella, is Cornelia Rebekka Woodward.
I have a Woodward link in a previous generation. Jacob Mullen Eldridge married Mary Louise(a) Woodward in Davenport, Scott, IA. She died after 18 mos. (cause unk). and is buried in Davenport's Oakdale Cemetery.
The family came from Ohio.

Richard Woodward that came from England in the late 1600's to West Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Don't know how old he was when he came here. Later, had a son, William Woodward who lived in Chester Co., Pennsylvania, and married Elizah Marshall who was born 10-02-1705.

My 6th great grandfather, William Woodward of Chester Co. Pennsylvania, who married Elizah Marshall born 10-2-1705, died before 4/1760. William's parents were Richard Woodward who came from England in the late 1600's to West Bradford Co., Pennyslvania. Richard's wife was Deborah Stanfield.

Eliza Marshall's parents were Abraham Marshall of England and Newlin Township, and Mary Hunt of Chester Co. Pennsylvania.

He married Amy Lucy Grocock in East Preston, West Sussex, England in 1929 when he was 20 & she 24. They had three children, Sylvia, Mary & David. When my Mum was in her late teens/early twenties (not sure of exact time) he left them all and disappeared off the face of the earth. No-one in my family ever saw or heard from him again. I would imagine he is now dead otherwise he'd be 101 yrs old & can only assume he changed his name or emigrated as I can find no death cert. There is a strong possibility that he re married bigamously & there may be half siblings to my mother & her brother & sister. If anyone can shed any light on where he went & what happened to him I'd be most greatful

Seeking descendants of (or information on) Thomas Woodward born mid C19th and Elizabeth Valentine b1864 at Hurdlow Station in Derbyshire. Sons were Thomas H, Frederick and John O. and daughters were Ethel and Marion V.

He was a policeman and I believe they moved to the Manchester or Everton area
