Jonathan Woody PROBABLY had other sons Henry and Thomas
My ancestor Henry Talley Woody was PROBABLY the son of Jonathan Woody. If anyone has any evidence tht Henry T. Woody was NOT the son of Jonathan, I would like to know. it. Apparently, no one takes me very seriously on this, because no one has responded to my previous posts. If no other Woody's were in the area of Oglethorpe and Elbert Co., GA other than Jonathan, does anyone have any evidence that he was NOT the father of Henry T. and/or Thomas Woody?
Henry T. was born about 1777. Henry was listed on 1801 Poll Tax list of Oglethorpe Co., so he was at least 21 years old. Henry married in Oglethorpe County, GA in 1803 to Kesiah Jennings (daughter of Miles Jennings), and Henry died 1813/14. Henry's only son was Samuel Rockingham Woody. Samuel's second son was named JONATHAN T. Woody.
Jonathan married in 1776, and William Berry Woody was born in 1779. Henry was born about 1777.
Jonathan was in Elbert County, GA in 1789, when he signed a quit-claim deed. Jonathan had also lived in Franklin Co., GA.
Thomas was probably another son of Jonathan. Thomas died in Elbert County, GA in 1829. He had a minor son named William. Jonathan was in Elbert County, GA in 1789, when he signed a quit-claim deed.
Any comments, etc. would be appreciated.
Thanks,
