I'm looking for info about Samuel Woolley who was married to Susan. They had children who were born in New York. Their son Alfred was married to a woman by the name of Maria Graves or Gravis. Alfred and Maria had a son by the name of Alfred Jacob, also a son named Thomas and a daughter named Jane who married a Hildreth. Sometime during the mid 1800's part of the family changed their name to Wooledge by an act of the congress of the state of New York. It could be that Alfred and Maria kept the name Woolley because in the 1820 fed. census for Dutchess Co. N.Y. Alfred's name is listed as Woolley and in the 1860 census Maria's name is listed as Woolley. Can anyone help me?
