Dr. (Thomas?) Wooten, alledged first physician in America?

The DAR library, Washington, D.C., has most of the publications of the defunct Wooten Family Assn.; amongst them should be (we hope) a study on Dr. Wooten. If I recall correctly, he returned (alive) to England and was without known issue. I think Gen. Preston Wooten joined the Jamestown Society on Dr. Wooten. I once visited with his two sweet old sisters in Kinston, N.C. Most of the early Va. to N.C. Wootens, alledgedly desc. a far more humble (and likely) yoeman Wooten from Castor, England. One of the Wootens as a sideline, made and sold hats at the county fair (outdoor market). I visualize this man walking with two staffs, each supporting a column of hats to sell, and atop his head, another stack of hats. Like our Wooten of yore, once at the county fair, Miss., I do doff my hat to you, I do doff my hat to you, hat, hat, hat, hat....
