Hello Bob,
I've had another look at that website and you're right: it doesn't provide those particular details. I'll paste in below some relevant excerpts from different parts of the website. William could have married in Olney or earlier - Rugby? Cambridge? - but the children mostly appear to have been born in Olney. Sarah's surname is just shown as _____ and she died in 1650, Rev. William re-married just 3 months later. His father's will written 5 or 6 years after Rev. William had settled in America mentions William but not the wife. William's own will mentions his sons and refers to their inheriting "after their mothers death or day of mariage wch first happens". Sarah was certainly their mother but she'd died 12 years earlier - but again no details about his wife.
Best wishes with your search,
- John Worcester (Melbourne).

WILLIAM WORCESTER of Rugby, Olney, then Salisbury:
… Rev. William Worcester ... before he emigrated to New England in 1638 or 1639 … married Sarah in England and had three or four children before arriving in the New World: Samuel, Susannah, William, and Sarah. (Sarah [ie junior] may, in fact, have been born in Salisbury.) ... matriculated at Cambridge University in 1620 ... Vicar of Olney ... between 1624 to 1636, suspended ... 1636, and subsequently emigrated to New England in 1638 or 1639.
He married 1st, Sarah _____, b in England, d in Salisbury, Apr. 23, 1650; m 2d July 23, 1650, Mrs Rebecca Hall, d in Ipswich, Mass., Feb. 21, 1695, ag. 78. (Rebecca had been twice married before she became the consort of Wm. Worcester: 1st to Henry Bylie; 2d, Apr. 3, 1641, to John Hall. She married for a fourth husband, Samuel Symonds, Deputy Governor of the Colony.)

EXTRACT FROM Will of Joseph Worcester of Rugby – 1644/5:
"The tenth daie of Februarie Anno Dom 1644 … And first I give and bequeth unto my eldest sonne William Worcester twelve pence of lawfull English money. And likewise to my sonne Joseph Worcester twelve pence of like lawfull money. Item I give unto my daughter Anne French twelve pence Item I give unto my daughter Alice Cave twelve pence. Item I give to my daughter Susanna Mason twelve pence."

TIMOTHY WORCESTER:
b Salisbury, Mass., May 14, 1642, d 1672, m Susannah . His widow married Oct. 24, 1672, Henry Ambrose, a weaver. Timothy was known to be a mariner or seaman. In March 12, 1666-7, he and his brother Moses split house and land given to them by their father through will.

EXTRACT FROM Will of William Worcester of Salisbury - 1662:
"I doe giue & bequeathe to my Sonne william worcester all my vpland wthin ye bounds of the new towne of Salisbury : wth all rights & privilidges thervnto belonging as also my first Higgle pigledee lott of Salt Marsh : & all my lott of Sweepage at the beache : by my land at ye newtown: my meaning is : my twenty acre lott abuttin vpon merimack River & the sevnty acres granted vnto mee by the towne of Salisbury lyng next : to the land of Capt Pike " n esterly: Itt: I doe give & bequeath vnto my sone Timothie worcester & to my Sonn Moses woster all the remaynder of my lands both vpland Marsh & meadow, lyng & being wthin the bounds of the old towne of Salisbury wth all rights, Comonages & privilidges thervnto belonging (Except before Exepted) to bee equally devided between them: prsently after my decease Also I doe giue vnto my said Sonns Timothe & Moses: my dwelling house, orchyard & house lott: after their mothers death or day of mariage wch first happens : to bee equally divided between them & to haue the barne prsently after my decease wth free egress & regress vnto ye sd barne : to cary hay or corne of ye like" Always pvided that the marsh Lott: wch was formerly my wyfes by hir former husband mr John Hall : remayne to the vse of my Said wyfe hir heirs & assignes for ever."
Hello John:

Thank you for responding to my post. I had already checked this site and did not find the maiden names of William's 1st wife Sarah, nor that of Timothy's wife Susanna.

I looked under the 1st & 2nd generations tabs. Is there somewhere else on the site that answers my query?

Regards,
Bob
Hello Bob,
I hope you check carefully the excellent and corrected information at www.worcesterfamily.com - it's an excellent website although many of its features need some updating. However, thanks to diligent research, It's now been conclusively shown which William Worcester the Americam Worcester progenitor was (from Rugby and Northamptonshire - and not from Cheddington. So many American researchers are still making assumptions about discredited research from early in the 20th Century.
- John Worcester (Melbourne).

Hi
I believe Ronie & Glen are both correct.
the ancestry of Jude we may never be able to uncover.
but naming traditions and some oral history we do have.
this living relative as it was told to below is still living 2008
****Helen Worcester wife of Fred Moses Worcester son of
Alden Moses Worcester b.04 Oct 1882 & Laura May Mawhinney b. 24 Aug 1888]
told a living family member that Jude Norrard was an Indian Princess. of course it was told and passed down perhaps
at first as a hushed truth..given the times. but
that time has passed and i do believe myself that
it is the truth. I think by the time these family members
Alden being a GG grandson of Jude] who
told of Jude being an Indian would no longer
have any reason to cover it up.
Generally things passed down in the family as oral
can tend to get grander as time passes. maybe she was just a plain Indian girl and she became a Princess to ease
the thought of it for some. But maybe she was a Princess!
we cant say what we dont know, and we pass on what we do know
and there is usually a grain of truth in the pearl.

Ronie was correct about the Indians disowning her
given the times. i'd like to think someone of the Indians
still may know of it, or that there might someday
out of the attic come a paper lost long ago..

[ i suppose if we had a matrelineal living person in the line we could do a mitocondrial DNA to find if there
was indian blood, i hadnt really thought about it.]

for 2nd wife Abigail Susanna Nash the source is below
source;
*Knowles family of Eastham Mass* notes Moses Worcester 2nd m. to Susanna widow Knowles, Moses Worcester signed deeds as late as 1836.
I believe that Moses first wife was named Jude Norard as several generations have give the name Jude Norard to their children. I also believe that she could of been a native american and all records will not be accessable to us as once a native american leaves their tribe they are lost from the records. Several folks have some what proof that their ancestors through Jude Norard was Micmac. It is an on going research with all of our families wanting to find out. We may never know for sure.

Marsina's name is correct in the 1914 "The Descemdants of Reverend William Worcester With A Brief Mention OF THE Connecticut Wooster Family" by SArah Alice Worcester. In the same entry, his wife's name was incorrectly transcribed as ELizabeth Cone. Marsina married Elizabeth Adeline CRIM.
The United States Census index transcribed his name incorrectly as: Marnaua,1840; Monna,1850 and Mannie B 1850.
Martha S. is my great grandmother. My grandfather was her son Johnnie Fletcher Christal. I am looking for info on Martha's husband, Ishom B Christal. Like when he died etc and also if there was a child of them named Ishom B. I have a picture of Martha and Geo Ross and also one of the Worcester family....Charlie's family and Martha, my grandfather, Johnnie, and Elizabeth Worcester if you are interested. I always thought it was Murceny Bannister....so are we sure it is Marcus? Thanks

Moses Worcester Family Reunion
Saturday September 9, 2006
Columbia Town Hall, Columbia, Maine
9:30 A.M.

We are now planning our family reunion again for Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Columbia Town Hall, Epping Road, Columbia, Maine and we need more recipes for an ongoing project of putting a family recipe book together. Please submit one or more of your favorite family recipes to me as soon as possible so I can get them organized and submitted.

Come join us in celebrating 30 years of the Worcester Reunion. There will be a potluck luncheon at 11:30 A.M. Bring whatever will go with our famous Marafax Bake Beans and American chop suey made the way our Columbia ancestors have done for years.
We also have a silent auction: please bring 1 or more items, it can be old or new, highly valued or worthless, precious or funny, homemade or strictly sentimental.

We still have a few last year Worcester mugs and trivets on sale.

Some genealogy information on the Worcester’s and some photo album’s of past reunions in one area provided by yours truly. Am always looking for more Worcester info and copies of pictures of ancestors of Columbia, Maine. I am trying to put together a history of the Town of Columbia and welcome all pictures of the town.

We can use some help on the auction table this year. This fundraiser and the dues help with the expense of the reunion. We love to socialize, so come and meet the rest of the family. Ronie Strout

I can't find the name of his parents. He had a half bro., Storer Nason b. 1812 also So. Berwick ME. It is possible his father was Edward. I am assuming his mother married a Worster to than become mother to my Thomas Jeff. This is all hand down by word no proof but I did find a death record on Nason showing father Edward but of course no mother name.

Hi, I just found out that your Albert M. Worcester married my relative Willie A. Braswell and for a short time lived in Floyd Co. Georgia before moving to the Lake, Florida area. They had a daughter who was born in Arkansas (Willie A. Braswell herself was born in Arkansas, but the Braswell family itself was from Georgia) and the daughter's name was Audrey Worcester born 1918. I am trying to follow up with more descendants of this family; I just started the search down this path when I found my great grandfather's obituary where it stated he was living with Willie and Albert Worcester shortly before his death. Willie A. Braswell worcester was the daughter of Ephriam Lace Braswell (my great grandfather) of Georgia. Email me and let's trade some more info......lkdawson@bellsouth.net Kay Braswell Dawson

I found the worcesterfamily site last year. It appeared to be a reprint of Fox's descendents and followed my line. It seems to have changed since then. Replacing Wm. with Joseph. I obtained my source for Rev. Wm.'s father from the LDS library in the 70's. It follows the theory of Gustav Anjoe 1345 - 1625 - LDS Book. For more confusion, visit
www.aloha.net/~esinger/wooster.htm#wooster
It is Edward's line, but mentions Rev.
Solomon Danby of Ribbesford, Worcester, England

Solomon Danby and Anne Cutler are my 5ggparents. I have seven children listed for them. One of them is named Anne born in 1746 in Upton Warren. I have not found a burial for her but am wondering if she died because I have found another Ann born in 1747 to Solomon Danby and Ann in Bromsgrove. Has anyone done any research on this line?

Hello, I'm wanting to know how or if one can access details of a marriage I found on the IGI website. on the 4th September 1811 John BURKE married Jane LOWE at OldSwinford, Worcester, England. This marriage could be the parents of Thomas Ulick BURKE who was born in Normandy France. Thomas Ulick BURKE came to Victoria, Australia. Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards
Joan Baker
Jimboomba, Q. 4280

Esther Worcester

Esther was born in Columbia, Me on May 27th,
1800 and died on Aug 6, 1885. She married a
David (Daniel) Merritt in 1819 of Addison, Me. They had children: Jotham - 1824 ; Ambrose - 1826; Darius F - 1832; Jane - 1834; Ezra - 1847; Emeline - 1841.
Jane married a seaman named John Wass and they lived in Addison. They had a girl named
Carrie born in 1864. The last census of Addison showed Esther living with Darius and his wife Hattie and two children, Frank L - 1866 and Eva M - 1880. I assume Esther died while living with Darius in 1885. Hope this helps.
