Ohio Wormans

Hi all, I am fairly new to researching my family history and have gotten back to what appears to be my first ancestor here from Germany. His name is George Worman (wife Catherine born abt 1829 in Hanover) born abt 1813 in Hanover, Germany. I can find Census records for him here in Dayton Ohio starting in 1850, but I am somewhat lost and cannot find anything searching for immigration records or records from Ellis island. Could someone point me in the right direction, or if anyone had information, I would greatly appreciate it.

Larkin's name appears to have changed from Warman to Worman when he moved from West Virginia to Nebraska. Thi smay have occurred, because he was illiterate and those already in Nebraska spelled their name Worman.

I'm out of town this week, so I have no dates or anything on Harold Worman. I believe there are two Harold Worman's in Wisconsin. There are some living relatives in the LaCrosse area.

There were two brothers, Esau George and Richard George Worman that came to Wisconsin from Curland, England...son of George Worman. He was originally from Donyatt, England. Esau was my ggrandfather and he settled in Polk County Wisconsin. Richard George settled in the LaCrosse area. If you contact me next week I can give you more information...contact me by email.

Rita i emailed you and it came back. Hans Henri Wuhrman and Magdalene Goszweiler came from Switzerland in 1735. Had Jacob Worman who was killed in 1807 and had married Mary. They had Magdalene , Henry ,Joseph, Conrad, Eve, Joshua and Jacob Jr. Magdalene married David Halverstadt in 1904.Joseph son of Henry became known as the barn builder around Lisbon, Ohio. Jacob Jr. had nine children.Isaac Halverstadt had a daughter named Magdalene who married John B. Worman. Magdalene married John Worman. There son Issac David Worman was a minister. Married Olive Alley. Also John Worman had Joseph M and David S Worman. There is so much naming of the generations before it is hard to keep them straight.
