Searching for a birth for Thomas Henry Worth and any info regarding ascendants. On his marriage registration place of birth is given as Tyrone, Co. of Durham, Ontario. Est 1860 - 1865. Parents are John and Eliza Worth - her maiden name not known. On 1871 Census, West Durham,Darlington, p28, I have found a Thomas Worth, age 11, b. Ontario, living with Edward and Elizabeth Shannon.
Thomas may have 2 half-sisters: Mary Jane, age 17, stray,living with a Sanderson family in Ontario Cty. Family believes that Mary Jane married Phillip Goyne and this marriage shows the surname of Sanderson. The children of Mary and Phillip show her maiden name as Crossman/Crosscom/Crosskam. The second possible sister is Melissa Welch who married Frank Bainbridge and they lived in Dekalb, Ill. Any help appreciated.

My great-grandmother's sister was Harriet J. Worth. Born in Illinois, 1877 but visited Washington often. I don't know if she actually moved here and I don't have a death date. Looking for any descendants/information about Benjamin Franklin Worth. The only information I have is that he died in 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pa.; he is the husband of Ella Mae Hooker, and they are the parents of my grandmother Ella Mae (May,Mabel) Worth Malsch (born 1884 in either Ohio or Pennsylvania). Ella Mae married my grandfather John G. Malsch from the northside of Pittsburgh, Pa. in 1904.

My great grandfather Isaac Worth came from Cornwall/Devon area. He was born about 1844. He was married to Mary J. Their eldest daughter, Bertha, was born Praze Cornwall. Second daughter was Etta. They had 4 sons Frederick, Ernest, William and Albert. Do any of these fit into your family tree?

So see "Richard Worth family tree".Facts: Bertha Blackwell and George Walter Worth lived together in St. Joseph, Mo. from about 1900 to 1910 Bertha's other names were: Duncan, Brines, Lawrence, Morrow, and DeField. Information is available in the Lincoln Neb. News of 1908 +- under the name Bertha Brines, and John Brines

I have reason to believe that Joseph Worth (b. 1696 and a mariner from Nantucket)may have taken a group of shipwreck survivors from Newport, RI, to Philadelphia in March of 1739. The name of his sloop was King Fisher. If anyone has any more information about this in their family lore, please write!

George Walter Worth was my (and John Rounds) great grandfather. You will find David listed in the "St. Joseph Missouri city register" from about 1900 to 1910.. Also you can see my info in Ancesty's Trees, Richard Worth Family Tree. Hope this helps... ok "Cousin"

A family transcribed erroneously as WORTH in 1850 census in Walnut Twp., Pickaway, OH, is actually that of William Henry NORTH (junior). He was born 3 SEP 1816 in Pickaway County and died 6 MAY 1887 in Dewitt County, IL, according to a posted WFT. The family can be found in 1860 census in Dewitt.

Charity Kent Worth "found" in father's will

Close examination of the will of Joseph Elias KENT (1750-1929) of Harrison County, Ohio, appears to show by omission that Charity KENT, second wife of James WORTH (1779-1860), was the oldest daughter of Joseph and Ann PERRIN KENT. That would make Charity, in effect, foster mother of her own siblings Absalom and Sarah, who married, respectively, Worth's daughter Isabella and his son John. On the Worth family tree, we tentatively place Charity as born "about 1789" and died "before October 1824," the date of Joseph's will. Reasons behind this conclusion: Virtually all of the many family trees for Joseph Elias KENT on Ancestry.Com agree that he and Ann PERRIN had eight children, (in assumed order of birth) Rachel, William, Ann, Rebecca, Absalom, Sarah, Catherine and Mariam. The list apparently was taken from Joseph KENT's will, ignoring a four-year gap between his marriage to Ann in 1787 and daughter Rachel's birth in 1791. Also, Joseph's grandsons Richard and William Worth, mentioned in the will, were the sons not of John and Sarah KENT WORTH, as placed in several trees, but of James and Charity KENT WORTH.

Please contact me. I am not sure if what I have is correct or not. But it sure fit's the bill.
I am trying so hard to trace my GrGrandmother. All I do know is her full married name. But going by the clues my Grandmother gave, her middle name included her middle and last name of her grandmother...
Will explain that more later.
It has taken me 37 and a half years just to track down my Grandfather's line, which would mean his mother's maiden name was Worth.
And going from there. I did find, and do not know if it is related but a W or A (for first letter) then a F. Worth and family with the wife's name of Matilda. And it does look promising to me that they could indeed be my GrGrGrandparents.

Raymond Llewellyn WORTH

Raymond Llewellyn WORTH was born in Massachusetts about 1884. He shows up in the 1900 census of Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts with his father Samuel and siblings Margarete, Addison, Elsey and Gwendoline. (His sister Elsie married a Mr. Almstein, but I have nothing on his other siblings)

Raymond married Mable Mae Edwards in 1909 in Chicago and in 1910 was shown in Baraboo, Wisconsin where he was a circus performer for the Ringling Brothers Circus. He had three children; Marguerite, Maxine and Raymond Jr. He deserted this family about 1916 and never was heard from again.

The Circus World Museum in Baraboo has a number of old newspaper (Variety, etc.) clippings that referred to him in later years. He performed as a clown with the name of “Flatiron.” Any and all leads would be appreciated.

Print off the following letter from rootsweb.com. It costs $27 but it will list his parents' names as John had to fill it out himself. It's more reliable than a death certificate.

Looking for information on descendants of Ernest and Emily Worth. Emily is the daughter of Thomas and Mary Frances Tordoff, born 10 December 1892, Bramley, Yorkshire.

Ernest and Emily emigrated to Fremantle, Western Australia in 1912. They had at least one child, Mary born in Bramley, Yorkshire.

Very interesting, I wish you a lot of luck, and if I come accross that name I will let you know.. I have been trying to find out who my Grandfather was. I have found a George Worth who was in St. Joseph in about 1900, and my grandmother was there too. So it looks like like I have about a 90% chance of being right. On 4-23-1910, Karl and Marie WIRTH, arrived at Ellis Island, on the ship Amerika, from Hamburg. Karl and Marie were accompanied by their four children Oscar 11, Johann 8, Mathilde 6, and Josefine 4. All born in Austria. They next appeared in the Chicago census of 1920, with their new Americanized names: Charles (40), and wife Mary (51) Worth, and their children John 17, Mathilda 15, and Josephine 13.

My wife's GGrandfather was Henry Opperman born 1835 Province of Hanover Germany ,
HWe believe he immigrated through New Orleans about 1850-1854 then went to New Germany Waterloo County Ontario Canada then moved to Formosa Ontario 1865-1875.
He died 1918 in Walkerton Ontariop Canada .
Any relationship ?

No, I don't have any photos. My post didn't really generate any responses, so my wife and I didn't get to visit Worth House. Someone told me that it had been sold and, I think, it was being rented. I don't remember who, now. I believe that source knew someone who had lived in the house as a servant to the family.

My Grandfather was Sidney Herbert Simpson b1885 Silver Street, Barnstaple, Devon. His Mother was Mary Jane Simpson nee Barrow b1855 Tuly Street, Barnstaple, Devon. Her Mother Mary Barrow nee Worth b1815 East Down, Devon married George Barrow b c1816 East Down, Devon, England.
William Henry Worth Barrow 1853 is my Gt Grandmother's (Mary Jane) brother. I would like to hear from anyone who has more information, especially about the Simpsons connection with the Barrow family.
