Thanks for your reply - none of the names you mentioned ring a bell. James Wortham's sons settled in Illinois and California, his daughters in Kansas (Cornelius) and Oklahoma (Rorschach). Our Duncan line went from Kentucky to Missouri to Illinois to California. No Bunns that I know of, no connection to Georgia.

Good luck in your search.
Pat Duncan

Hi...I don't really have the info that you are looking for but my uncle,Charlie Bunn, married a Bertha Wortham (1910 Census)and in searching, I find that Chalie and Bertha were living with her parents and siblings in 1910. They have one child, then Inez, and that was their daughter's name.
I know little information because I am the last child of my father, William T. Bunn. He was 63 when I was born, I am now 70. I saw the name Duncan and wonder if there could be a connection to a tombstone listed in Newnan, Ga. Cemtary, Rosa Duncan Bunn and I wondered who that was, and wondered if that could be a connection and perhaps Rosa Duncan Bunn, Ducan being a family name carried on. The plot is Faulkner/ Bunn and that is where I saw this many years ago. I live in Texas now and just thought I would ask if you have any Bunn's by marriage in your family to a Wortham.
Thanks.
Kathy Bunn schultz

Hi, am looking for a Bunn/Wortham Connection. An unknown cousin from Alaska contacted me years ago to see if I knew anything about his relative, Bertha Wortham that married my uncle, Charlie Heber Bunn. I had no info as my father, William Thomas Bunn, died when I was 14. I lost his email address. He lived in Alaska. I decided to look up uncle Charlie and in the 1910 census, I found them. Apparetly Uncle Charlie and spouse Bertha Wortham were living with the Worthams at that time. I thought I would pass this info along in case you may also be connected and I hope that
helps.
Wm. Wortham age 46, Ella Wortham, age 42, Paul Wortham, 28,
Zack Wortham, 21, Roop Wortham, 17, Dora Mary Wortham, 14,
Homer Wortham, 13, Dollie Wortham, 11, Charlie Bunn 27 (My uncle)Wife, Bertha Bunn, 19 and Inez Bunn 11/12. I am wondering if the 11/12/ doesn't mean months, becuse Charlie had a daughter Named Inez, but 11/or 12 in years would be a little wrong looking at the parents age, so it is written 11/12 snd I bet that is months, and since living with the
Worthams, I bet she was just a baby less than a year and that is why it is written 11/12.
I hope this helps for people looking for Worthams in Ga.
Kathy Bunn Schultz

I am a greatgranddaughter of Adeline and William A. Wortham, the granddaughter of Dennis Levi and Elizabeth Wortham and daughter of Fru Elizabeth Wortham and Paul Cooper Barker.

Through my mother I inherited six teaspoons of the Reed & Barton "Trajan" pattern which were given to my grandmother on Adeline's death. Other family members received similar portions of the set according to family lore.

I wonder if any contemporary Wortham has any other pieces, and if any attempt has been made to collect them all in one set. I am elderly and wanting to make dispensation of these beautiful pieces before they are lost to the Texas tradition. Thank you. Fru(zanna) Teston (nee Barker)

I'm sure there is a lot of good information on Ron's site. I looked at it once before, but should go back and download again in case there are corrections. Please be advised my Robert J. Wortham who is connected to "Little Bob" Wortham including some of my own research has never been documented as the same person to my knowledge. While there are similarities that make a connection look possible, there are also discrepancies that make it also seem unlikely. Sites like these while helpful, need to be used as a source but not considered factual without documentation. This information is then shared from one and another and you'll find the same information erroneously repeated and included in family history sites which may or may not be accurate. I just felt compelled to put this forth as a reminder from my own experience.

M. Wortham b. July 1886 (TN?), in Greer Co OK 1900 (died 1977?? Greer)

I’ve never found an answer to a question I posted abt a year and a half ago and thought I would try again in case there is new info out there or someone watching the board who was not previously.

In 1900 my husband's grandfather Claud Wortham & his brother Geo were in Greer Co OK. Later I found 1900 Greer Co Thurmond household – Ada/Addie Thurman and Lela or sisters to Claude --Lee or this one may actually say Levi and wife Ada (we also have her as Addie as well as Mary A.). In this census her sister Lena (or Lela at times) is living with them and below Lena is "brother-in-law" to the head of the household; would be Wortham, M??? We had Lela as youngest child til that point. I've magnified & studied it but can't make out the given name; may be Ma or could be Mu and then from there who knows, could be n, r or s, I just cannot decipher the writing! I've searched 1910, 20 & 30 census index just using Wortham and do not find an appropriate given name, sex, age etc that seems to fit this at all; perhaps he died before the next census was taken. He is 13 and birth listed as July 1886 TN; the TN may be suspect but perhaps his family did return there for at least a while from TX after the other childrens' births. His father, Robert J. Wortham, is probably from TN (1833-36 per 1880 we know to be him and an 1860 LA which could be; '41 per the Rapides parrish if this is in fact him & Ada); though this particular census says TX; this census gives us a 4th place his mother Addie/Ada M. Fears is supposedly from (b. abt 1846) - Louisiana, as well as GA, AL, & TN. His oldest sibling was born in LA 1872 (or '71 per this report) where we think Robert and Addie may have married in Rapides Parrish abt 1863 and though the age is really off we find Robert J. & Ada in '70 Rapides census. The rest of the children were born in TX (Mary Ada, Putnam abt 1874, Claud F. Navarro Co 1876, Geo. Thomas '80 & Lela/Lena Boyd Merkel, Taylor Co 1882- married name Chastain). Does anyone know this M. Wortham or share this line or have any clues for me? You may have seen info that Robert J. is "Little Bob" son of Wm. Green Duke Wortham which many have assumed and then also combined my own descendant info with; this has never been documented to my knowledge, nor disproved - there are indications he could be the same and indications they are not the same. The family was also in NM, TX and some of both Geo & Lela's line I think went to CA; we have nothing on Putnam after 1880 census. There is a story that a young child froze to death when they were in Navarro Co where they were in 1880. I would be so grateful for any information, clues, suggestions; we had no info on this youngest child til I found this. Perhaps this would be a new lead especially if he did survive and have descendants. About 6 mo. after finding the census I found on the Greer Co site an index for Riverside Cemetery:

Wortham, M. ?
-1977, S-1 R-5

Am wondering if possibly is same 13 yr old M? Wortham I found in Greer Co 1900. His older brother Claude’s wife’s parents are buried at this cemetery. Does anyone possibly have info on this M. Wortham in Greer Co census or buried in Greer Co 1977? Thanks, Sandra
I am now realizing this is probably Robert Briscoe WORTHAM b. 6/24 1832 in Maury county,TN to Robert & Annie Briscoe Wortham? My Robert was Robert J.

If anyone can confirm or add more info, would be greatly appreciated

1860 East Feliciana, LA, Clinton P.O. --

Mrs. A. Wortham, 70 yr old from VA
and 27 yr. old Robert from TN

Who can tell me about them? Who was her husband? I suppose this was her son. He may be my husband's grt gf who we have in LA (Rapides Parish) we're pretty sure in 1870. He was married to Addie/Ada Fears and they were in TX by 1880, Navarro Co.

Thank you, Sandra

would be interested in more information on you LA Worthams as ours was there too. Think Robert J. Wortham & Addie/Ada Fears married abt 1863 in Rapides Parish LA and were still there in 1870. Have found a Robert Wortham, also from TN like ours and within a couple of years of what we had his age, living with a 70 yr. old Mrs. A. Wortham from VA.

You are correct. That would be Robert Briscoe Wortham, born in Tennessee in 1832, living near Clinton, Louisiana, in 1860. He moved to Bosqueville, Texas, the following year, and died there in 1913.

I am looking for any informatin on Lucinda Rebecca Wortham born in a Creek Indian Village in Pencil, Alabama. She was born about 1850. I am searching for a friend, and she has a document from the village stating the birth of this child. Although she was given an English Name, her parents were listed as Little Rose Flower and Big Chief Doc Wortham. This village was on a creek, and I can not remember the name, but I do remember that it started with "Kitch", and it was similar to Kitchamtoochee, or some such pronunciation.
Lu (as she was known) was married to
Newton (Napolean) Whitten McDonald.
Please help us. Thank you
