Ok here's the end of the line and its with me. After c their was a Jr. Then the middle name changed to axle. So Gilbert axle wraith and his son was junior. Then my father was named Gilbert William wraith. I am the junior. And unless I have a son the sir name does. Not continue as to speak of. I do however have a daughter gizelle if you are interested. So there's the end of the mistery for you.

Hello Carol,
I don't have you in my tree although I do have a lot of Icely's. It isn't a common name.
I checked and your mother's maiden name was Bruce but can't find an Icely-Bruce marriage between 1950 and 1956 so can't work out your parents' names.
Do you have any more clues?

I added Ann Jones to my tree fairly recently as a spinoff looking for the background to the Burbidge family of Northamptonshire.

Hi! Very interested in your message. I've got a photo of (Uncle John Wraith)( being my Grandfather's uncle)with his dog, which was taken in Butte Montana, but don't have a date. My grandfather's mother's maiden name was Jemson and the whole Jemson family emigrated to Canada in the early 1900's. Eileen - I am related to that branch. I have William being the son of William and Hannah Jameson (not Jemson. I would be interested in the relatives from Butte Montana.

My Great Grandfther, William Wraith was born about 1822. He immigrated sometime before 1860. He lived in Paterson and then Morristown, NJ. He died in 1909 in Morristown, NJ.

Hi! I wonder if your Wraiths are also mine. My greatgrandfather William Wraith, Loftus Yorkshire, married Hannah Jemson. Their son William, 04.01.1871. Loftus Yorkshire, married Margaret Ann Ward o4.07.1873. Medomsley, and lived in the Durham area.

I've just started researching our family tree and you have got to be one of our family.My grandfather was William Wraith born 04.01.1871 in Loftus Yorkshire and his mother was Hannah Jemson. I have an old photo sent from Butte Montana and I know that an uncle, aunt and cousins of my grandfather emigrated between 1900 and 1930. I have an address for Mr and Mrs Thomas in Butte but haven't tried to contact as it's such a long time ago.

Have we been in touch before?
I know Ed Wraith and his family background. His Wraiths came from Kent to Durham. My Wraiths moved to Yorkshire from Kent, confusingly for me there were Wraiths in Yorkshire already. Then they moved to Derby. I am also in touch with Jerry Wraith who has extensive details of the Wraith families of Kent.

Still seeking information on my Great Grandfather, William Wraith. On Marriage info, It said that he was born in Engalnd circa 1821. Parents names: Robt or Richard Wraith and Elizabeth Wraith. He came to America before 1850, perhaps with a brother as family story goes. Was married in Patterson, NJ approx. 1850. Any leads or information appreciated.

I haven't posted for some time but am still researching my Wraith family tree.
My branch started in Hollingbourne, Kent, late 18th century then dispersed. My ancestor William Wraith moved to Taunton around 1830, married Ann Icely of Woolwich there in 1834, fathered 3 children, then moved to Wakefield around 1840.
There were other Wraith families in Wakefield already and elsewhere in Yorkshire, but I have not found any connection.
William's son, William Henry Wraith left Wakefield around 1860 and ended up in Derby, founding the branch that I come from.
As far as I am aware there is no connection with the Wraiths of Durham/South Shields. I have been in contact with Ed Wraith who is very knowledgeable on them. I believe they originally came from Kent too.
Anybody interested in sharing information, please let me know.
Other important names in my tree are Icely, Isley, Dimmock, Clark(e), Commons, Nester, Orgill, Colville, Colwell, Hopla

My Great grandfather came from England. Do not know the locality, nor do I know the year he immigrated. He was married in Patterson, NJ in October of 1852. His parents according to their marriage information were Robert and Elizabeth Wraith. William Wraith was born in 1821 or 22 per marriage certificate and census.Any information will be greatly appreciated.

My Great Grandfather came to America from somewhere in England about 1850. As the story goes, he came with a brother, and lost contact with him. William Wraith is my Great Grandfather, my Great Great Grandfather was Robert Wraith and his wife's name was Elizabeth. (from marriage records). If you have any information on this family, it would be most appreciated.

I have been going thru my tree again and hopefully we can help each other. Does this ring any bells?
Samuel (born 1852, willington) and Mary Ann Wraith (born 1855, howdon) had 4 children, william (1873), Elizabeth (1874, who married perry thornhill), samuel (1879) and supposedly charles (no info). Form here I have nothing up to date however I have history back to 1600's. Can you help?

I have Wraith ancestors who lived in Butte, Montana from roughly 1905 onward. They came to the U.S. in 1880. While they may not be the exact match it is quite possible/likely that they were related. My Wraith ancestors were from Northumberland and County Durham area in England. Where was Mary Wraith from? Please email me and let's see if there is a connection.

Raeth - Raith or Wraith?

While going through some old photos belonging to my mother (Now 82), I found some family photos from 1949 & earlier of Raeth. In the early 1940's they were in San Diego. I believe the husband Nick was stationed there while in the Navy. And that my mother became close friends with his wife Terry. If you can give me the name & sex of their first child...I have 4 photo's for you! (Perhaps the name is mis-spelled on the back of the photo.)

I am trying to find my grandmother's ancestors. She was Lilian May Wraith born 1900 in the Newcastle area. I think her mother's maiden name could possibly have been Jefferson.
