Hmm... it is interesting for me, because my grandgrandfather disappeared around 1920 when he was going home. As I know, He was also from Northern Hungary - it is Slovakia after 1920 from Gomor county (Now in Mid Slovakia - somewhere around Rimavska Sobota (Rimaszombat)).
I'll ask my Grandfather he has to know it.His name is Janos Prska and his father was Janos (Jan - in Slovakian) Prska. (Janos was a quite frequient name in that time, but Prska is not.)
My mother`s religion I do not think that can provide relevant information.

I`ll share with you the further information
Viktor

Oh my gosh, you are the first Prska that I know of! Do you know where your mother's family is from originally? I am trying to find their original place of birth. My g-grandmother, Rosa Skulan, was from Lysa pod Makytou and married her husband, Jan Prska there. I have gone through the parish records over and over and there are only two references to Prska - as an alias and from out-of-town. I have not reviewed Lutheran records yet. What religion was your mother?

Thank you so much for responding.
Denise

Hi Denise,

A short note from Hungary. My mother is Prska and we are living in Budapest, Hungary now. Unfortunately my godgodfather died after 1st WW when my grandfather was newborned so we did not really had any contact with the family.
Viktor

Darrell,
I received your email at my netscape address and have replied. My prefered email is ddm1050@hotmail.com, but I do check both regularly. The hotmail does fill up pretty fast and occationally starts kicking back if I don't clean it out at least twice a day. Feel free to contact me at either email address. The netscape address is ddm1050denise@netscape.net.
Do you know what village and country your ancestors originated from?
