My great, great grandfather James Wright emigrated to Australia in 1852 with parents George & Isabella (nee Snadan-various spellings),& siblings Robert & William, landing in Melbourne. James & his wife Margaret lived in East St Kilda (both are buried in St Kilda Cemetery), with a large estate in Sorrento. He was the founding President of the Sorrento Golf Course on the Mornington Peninsula. Does anyone have any further info on his life as a boy in Melbourne (where he went to school etc etc), and his later business interests ?
