From the publication of “Tennessee Convicts: Early Records of the State Penitentiary Vol. 1 1831-1850” by Charles A. Sherrill and Tomye M. Sherrill, published by Charles A. Sherrill, Mt. Juliet, TN in 1997:

John B. Wright was received into the penitentiary March 21, 1833 for larceny and sentenced for 3 years by the court of Davidson County, TN. He is 6’ 1” in height, weighs 172 lbs., dark hair, grey eyes, long nose, rather dark complexion, 31 years old. Has generally followed farming. Born in Davidson County, TN, has a wife and 3 children living in the same county on Hamilton’s Creek about 12 miles from Nashville. He has 3 brothers, two living in Davidson County and one in Hickman County on Duck River. His wife’s maiden name was Cato; her connections (relatives) all reside in the same neighborhood with his family. He has a scar on the back of the finger next the little finger of the left hand, a scar on the left side of his face running up and down very plain when closely examined.
