I have been extracting WROTENs from old city directories. I am looking for
information about a David WROTEN who married a Mary BARTON in Baltimore.
They had at least one child - Benjamin Franklin WROTEN b 1832 in Baltimore.
I hope this info helps someone. key abbreviations and occupations are at the
top.

COMB MAKER - made combs either for the textile industry for combing wool etc. or the maker of hair combs

CORDWAINER originally term used for one who worked with Cordovan (a special leather from Spain) but later term used for shoemaker

CURRIER - cures or tans hides

DRAYMAN - cart driver

HUCKSTER - sells small wares

MOULDER - maker of molds or castings, brickmaker

PILOT - ship steersman

SAWYER - saws timber to boards

TILER - one who put tiles in place either on the roof or floor

TRIMMER - trims a ship by re-arranging its cargo
