Kathy,
Please call me at your convenience.

Office: 901-525-1441
Home: 901-680-0980
warrenwurzburg@wurzburg.com

My grandfather was Abe. Abe had younger brothers, Henry (your grandfather) and Reginald and a sister Francis. But you probably know this. I think Abe had a brother, Louis, that died at an early age.
Abe and Reggie worked at the company that Seymour worked at, the Rosemore Company founded in 1908. It later became Wurzburg Brothers, Inc. and now it is Wurzburg, Inc. There are 8 decendants of Abe and Reggie still working at the company. My 18 year old works part time and is the the fifth generation. We will be celebrating our 100th year in 2008.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Warren

Hi Warren,
I'm happy to read your response. I'd love a copy of the picture that you mentioned. If you'd be willing to scan it, I'd appreciate it.
I'm descended from Seymour, too, through his son Henry, who was my grandfather. At this point, I've traced Seymour to his father, Louis. I haven't been able to trace the line before that; I have no idea from where in Germany the family originated. Do you have any information that could narrow my search? My husband and I are avid genealogists, visiting the Family History Library in Salt Lake City a few times a year. I'd be able to find records many generations back if I knew the family's whereabouts in the 1840's or before.
I'd love a copy of the court document you mentioned, too. It's amazing where important genealogical information can show up.
I do know that Louis Wurzburger arrived in New York on December 11, 1850 at the age of 25. He arrived on a ship named Atlantic, which departed from Antwerp. I also have a record for the naturalization of a Louis Wurzberger, in 1880. At that point, there were several men by that name in New York City, so I don't know if it is our Louis. I'd be happy to share that record with you though, if you'd like it.
Thanks again for your response.
Kathy

I do have a family portrait of Seymour as a child with 2 brothers and perhaps their school teacher?. The portrait eas done in 1878 for his parents 25th anniversary. The frame is dated 1853-1878. The initials over at the top of the frame are L and H. I believe Louis and Henrietta.
Regards,
Warren S. Wurzburg

I am a great grandson of Seymour and Henrietta Wurzburg. I do not know the parents, but would like to have any family history you can provide.
My son-in-law recently came across a 1918 Tennesee Supreme Court case where Herietta sued The New York Life Insurance Co. for the proceeds of a policy on Seymour's life. The beneficiary was the Specialty Manufacturing Co. in Memphis.
If you would like to view it, I can send you a copy.
Thanks,
Warren Seymour Wurzburg, Jr.
