Sandra,
My great grandfather was Andrew Wydeen. He was born in 1857 and was raised in Sweden. He immigrated to the US in the late 1800's (I want to say around 1890, but I am unsure). He was a shoemaker, as seems to be the case with most Wydeen's who lived in Sweden. He settled in Brooklyn or Manhattan and set up shop as a shoemaker. He died in New York City in 1915. Little is know at this time about his wife, other than she, also, was from Sweden.
My grandfather was August Wydeen, born circa 1895. He married Lilias Halliday and they were the parents of my father, Russell. They were married in New York. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota with my father, who was just a child. The Wydeen family that I have known all my life have all been from Minnesota. All other non-Minnesota Wydeen's I have never know.
August and Lilias had 5 children. One of them, a navy pilot, was killed during WWII. The others survived to adulthood and had children.
Thanks for being out there. Keep in touch. As you mentioned, it is most likely that all Wydeen's are related.
