Thomas, Any idea where Matilda, Dundas county would be in relation to Morrisburg, Dundas County? There isn't too much doubt that this is the same family. I have noted that the Wyley name has been spelled several ways over the generations; and all of the same family tree. I will attempt to pull the 1851 census for Dundas county again. Now that Ancestry has a lock on it I may not be able to access it immediately. My personal email is ok2can@telus.net. Thank you for responding.
I found the family in the 1851 cencus, Canada West, Dundas County, Matilda Township. The spelling of the surname is Wylie not Wyley but Samuel, Margaret,George, Alexander, and Elizabeth are listed as Children with the correct ages. John Wylie on the same page could be related.

Hi, I just today saw your reply to my original post about your g-grandfather, Edd Wyley. I hope you read this and maybe you can contact me via email at btzplace@yahoo.com. I haven't worked on the genealogy for quite some time because I kept getting nowhere fast. So I'm hoping you might have some info on the name of your great grandpa Edd's father. Thank you so much for replying to my post. Looking forward to hearing from you.
P.S. My mom grew up with your grandmother and her siblings in Oklahoma and has told me lots of cute stories about their times together. :)

They had 7 children: Samuel, Margaret Ann, George, Alexander, Elizabeth, John A, and Albert Franklin. They left the Canada West region abt 1855 moving into Howard County, Iowa, William fought in the Civil War and died in a veteren's hospital in St Louis, MO. Am interested in any information that might be available on these two families, Parents and/or siblings. Thank you.

Hi Brenda,

I hope you get this message. My great grandfather was Edd Wyley. He fathered my grandmother Zona, great uncle, Otis Wyley whom raised my father. He also had 2 other daughters named Cleo and Alva. Cleo is the only living of the siblings. We have a large number of family members here in the Okc, Ok metro area as well as Joplin, Mz and a few other places. I would be thankful and greatful to help you on your journey. My grandmother married a Whitlock which is where my line comes from. She died before I was born I didnt get to know her. Thats why Otis whom was married to Gladys Pauline Van Allen raised my father.

Thank you for your time and efforts. I dont know whom posted the 3 pictures on another post but one of them sure look like Mattie and Edd, I have seen pictures of them and they are very similar in facial features. My Papa Otis had shown me the family pictures he had on many occasions including ones the had The Wyley family on a front porch, Mattie and I believe her father was in it. If im correct he was the Choctaw Indian that we get our Indian heritage from.

I am looking for info on Malici Ann Wyley. She was born in 1836 in Ontario, Canada. She married Elkannah Baker Smith and had four children. I believe her name is misspelled on the 1881 census and that her name could be Melissa.

Nancy Cleo Wyley?

I am looking for information on Nancy Cleo (or Cleo Nancy) Wyley. She was born in the 1880's and was married around 1907 to Cyrus W. Hopper in North Carolina. She and her husband are buried in Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Cuthbert Georgia. Other family trees do not list a last name for her, but in the family bible I have, it lists her as a Wyley(but the spelling may be incorrect?). It also lists her father Wallace Wyley and mother Martha Parker. Some other information that may or may not be accurate is the names of her siblings: Demp, Luna, Arthur, Daniel, and William.

Nancy Cleo (Wyley) Hopper would be my greatgrandmother and I would really appreciate it if anyone has any information to contact me! Thank you!

Wiley\Wyley\Wyly (Jackson, Lane, McElderry, Morris, Stokes, White families)Surnames

Although I have listed everything in Wiley or Wyley, I did find on an obituary that my Aunt Bertha spelled the name WYLEY as "WYLY" typo? However, I did find that my Great Grandparents were William H. Wiley and Lucinda (White) Wiley. They had several children, mostly boys who scattered. It is believe that some remained in Alabama perhaps around Walker or Wilcox County and Henry County.
There is a daughter, who have children who go by the last name of "MORRIS". Some currently in Chattanooga, TN, and Talladega, Alabama areas. Although I have included other surnames to my list, I don't all the connections, just additional information received during my most recent research.
