Descendents of John and Agness Parke WYLIE

Classification: Query
Surnames: PARKE, WYLIE, CAMPBELL
I seek information on John WYLIE born say 1683 in Ahoghill, County Antrim, Ireland, married Agnes PARKE say 1701 and with five children, Elizabeth, John Jun, Jean, Peter and James migrated to Voluntown, Connecticut Colony, in 1728. I descend from John (Jun) whose son Moses WYLIE moved, with extended family, to Lebanon Madison County, New York about 1800. I have reason to believe that John WYLIE's father was a John WYLIE in Ahoghill. The John WYLIE Sen who signed the letter of character in the Church in Cullbaky for this family could be the emigrant's father, but I've certainly not proved that. These people were Scots in Ireland.

The following appears in "A Compilation of Facts and Not so Factual Happenings Concerning Voluntown, Connecticut," by Judy Harpin for the Voluntown Historical Society, 1971.

"At a town meeting in 1728... John Wylie on his arrival, presented the following certificates: "That John Wylie and his wife Agnes Park, and their children Elizabeth, John, Jean, Peter and James, during their residence in this Presbyterian congregation of Cullbaky, in the parish of Ahoghill and county of Antrim, which was from their infancy, are free of any scandal or church censure know to us preceding the date hereof is certified at Cullbaky, April 23, 1728. This appointment, we having no minister-- signed John Wylie, Sen.,Gain Stowell, Matthew Clark."
