I have quite a bit of information on the descendents of Karl Yaeger and Rosa Enderle. The History Center in St. Cloud has been very helpful in putting together much of the information. I have names but would love to connect with the descendants who have remained in the Central Minnesota area. Until recently I haven't put anything into a public tree. Tonight I made a number of pictures public but most are from all the other branches of my family. I am particularly interested in connecting with the Rudolph Yaeger family. He and John Paul were quite close. I went to school with some of his grandchildren but have lost touch with them. Hope to reconnect. And little-by-little I will start adding more to my public tree, especially pictures and newspaper articles.

Well if they have then it would help alot if we have some of them add to the FindaGrave.org site.Since there is few of the Yaeger listed for the Minnesota area on FindaGrave.org plus this give me and my other cousin chance to match up our Great Grandmother Caroline Yaeger Fry with some of her relatives.

My great-grandmother's death certificate says that her father was Fred Garner of Illinois and her mother was Eliz. Yaeger, born in Kentucky around 1840. Eliz Yaeger lived in Edwardsville IL when her child, Theckla, was born, and she lived in St. Louis MO until about 1880, briefly with her husband and then as a widow.

DNA evidence shows three possible connections to families of Henry Garner 1664-1745 and John Garner 1633-1702--no Yaegers yet.

THe child of Eliz. Yaeger, Theckla Pauline Garner, was born 5 Sep 1860 in Edwardsville IL. She married Louis William Engel on 26 Oct 1881.

I would appreciate any information. Thanks.

At one time I thought this was the case also. I found this family on the steamship 'Hermann' leaving from Bremen and arriving in New York in 1866. I next found them in Washington County, Kansas on the 1870 Census. So I went to this county on vacation, went to the church they worshipped at for Sunday service, went to the graveyard and saw the graves, went to the courthouse and saw the records! How exciting! Then I found this dear little old lady who knew her 'Uncle Jacob' quite well. I went to her house for a visit and within minutes realized I had the wrong family! Her 'Uncle Jake', Jacob Yaeger II, lived and died in California. She and the rest of her family visited him there quite often. My Jacob Perry Yaeger (Jaeger) was never in California. Family tradition also has it that his mother and father ran a mercantile store in New York City. Quite a dissappointment to find this was not them! Nice vacation though! Lol!

Sorry to disagree but I think that you are related to the Kansas Jaegers. Jacob Perry II had a brother Wendel. Wendel is my husbands great grandfather. Wendel settled and is buried in Kansas. As far as Jacob Perry II, I found info. that he was born in 1865 and married Mary Vannoy who was born in 1844 and died in 1940. I think that Jacob II lived in Hanover, KS, in 1880. Hope this helps

Your grandfather Leo was a first cousin to my dad Nicholas (b.1917) and your grandmother Juletta was a sister to my aunt Irma who was married to my dad's older brother (Louis). Those are all very common names for 19th/20th century Eastern European Jews, and I have some information on my Gussie (her maiden name was definitely Teller, born 1895, children Meyer & Fannie) that doesn't seem to match up with what you have. Do the names i've listed match anyone else in your family tree?

It would help if you could possible give out more information then you have, like do you want parents or siblings. And it would be a big help if you give out the years for him if he isn't live. That would be tough for with someone who's living you don't try to give out important information like that. This would help better if you give a little more details out of what you would like if someone can help you.

Hi!

How exciting--I guess we're third cousins, as Reisel is my great-grandmother. So, where did you get your information about the Jagers? I've located their immigration records and the 1930 US census, as well as several birth records on JewishGen, and my uncle interviewed my great-grandfather when he was in his 80s about the family.

Since I posted that, I've found out quite a bit more on Tillie's family. She was the daughter of Feige Bruh & Mayer Teller, and was born Taube Teller in 1878 in Kulikow, Galicia. She had 8 siblings: Sofia Laje (1877-1879) Osias (Sam, b. 1880, m. Gittel/Gussie), Golde (b. 1882), Berl (b. 1885), Itte (b. 1890), Boruch (b. 1892), Guttel (Gussie, b. 1895), and Basie (Bessie, b. 1897). Mayer Teller possibly had a brother named Leisor, who married Ides Spindel.

I've had quite a bit of trouble tracing Shimshen (on Taube's immigration record it calls him 'Simon', but on his daughter Reisel's marriage record he is referred to as 'Sam'). As far as I can tell he was born between 1869-1872 in Kulikow, Galicia, or possibly Russia. My great-grandfather told my uncle that he died in 1925. When I checked the online NYC death index, there were two Simon Jagers of about the right age dying in the mid-20s, so I haven't yet ordered his death certificate. Simon had a brother named Hersch (Harry).

If you'd like to correspond more I can send you my e-mail address.

-Emma

Looking for any connections/information about the family of Tillie and Shimshen or Shmuel Yaeger or any variation of that surname. Tilly/Tillie was born in Galicia, Poland, in 1879, and died in 1948. She had at least 5 siblings who immigrated to New York state: Golda, Sam, Shia, Bessie (m. Nathan Heller), and Gussie (m. Benjamin Shapiro). Shimshen (1869-1925) and Tilly had six daughters, the first five born in Galicia, Poland: Rifke/Rose (1898-1981, m. Herschel Weiner), Ruth (1901-1985, m. Morris Bernstein), Reisel/Rose (1904-1982, m. David Greenbaum), Helen (b. 1906, m. Moses Carlinski), Edith (b. 1912, m. Lester Cannon), and Dora (b. 1916 in Brooklyn, m. Harold Zucker). The family immigrated to New York in 1914.

I would love to hear from family members or anyone with information about this family!

I posted previously in this Yaeger forum information that turns out not to be my Yaegers. The Kansas Yaegers I posted are no relation to me. I am still looking for my Yaegers prior to my great grandfather in Texas. According to his death record my great grandfather, Jacob Perry Yaeger , was the son of Jacob Perry and Annah (Buehler?)Jaeger. My Jacob was in Texas c.1882. He was born in Germany, 1861 and was naturalized in 1866 according to census records. Come on Jaeger/Yaeger cousins! Lets find our ancestors!
rickyaeger@msn.com

Reposting & updating some info from 2000-2001, still stuck.

Looking for any additional information.

Edmund Jean (John) Yaeger, b. 9 Jun 1859 in Paris, France.
I have seen on censuses (John E. Yager & his b. as 1860)

When 1 yr old, his father remarried and came to the U. S. (does that mean 1860? The 1910 census says 1865)

Early childhood was in New York City. At 12, he ran away. Since he said he was an orphan, he was placed with foster parents near Decatur, IL for 6 years. He went to KY and TN, then to Chicago for 4 years.

In 1882, he left for MT.

On his marriage license, he listed John Yager and P. Hess for his father and mother. In MT he used the spelling of Yager for a while.

Edmund married Hilda Knutson in Glendive, Montana on
12 Jan, 1896.

They had 5 children.

Louise b. 1897 Ashland,Mt d. 1992 m.
Records indicate there were several Jaeger families living in Rittershoffen, Alsace, around 1750-1850. Members of two of those families migrated to Marion, Ohio, around 1830. One was my 3rd great-grandmother, Martha Magdalena Jaeger. I would like to compare and share information with anyone who can trace their Jaeger /Yaeger /Yager /Yeager family back to Rittershoffen.
