Classification: Query
Surnames: Yahn, Wolter, Lorenz
My husband's gggf was the Rev. George Yahn born in Hatten, Elsass (Alsace, France now). I have seen his wife's name spelled/misspelled in various ways, Mathilena, Merterlema (probably a transcription error) but the surname was Kobler. Their son Henry was married to Anna Wolter, daughter of Wilhemina Lorenz and Friedrich Wolter originally from Mecklenburg. I have notes saying that along with Henry, there was a son George, Frank, and one other as well as four daughters, eight children. They were on the 1880 census in Mound Prairie MN, At the time they only had Lydia, Henry and Adelia Yahn. I guess the others were born later. The 1890 census was destroyed by fire according to what I just read online today.
