Patton, Aug 12_ Patton’s first soldier of World War 11 to give his life in the service , Paul Yahner, aged 27, died on Monday at Fort Holabird, Baltimore , Md. his death was attributed to complications following an operation. Yahner was inducted into the service on March 14, this year, having been empoloyed by the Marquetter Steel Company in cleveland, Ohio, prior to his induction. He was the son of William and Edith ( Black) Yahner, the latter being deceased, and was bor nat Patton on Oct., 17, 1914. Surviving are his fatherand these brohters and sisters : Donald of PAtton , Modestus of Carrollotew=wn, Lester, with teh United staes Marines at Jacksonville , Fla., Leonard, Elaine, and Emma, all at ome, and Marjory, wife of Joeph Keith of Twin Rocks. He was amember of St. Mary’s Church. THe body arrived in PAtton this afternon and was taken to the home of his father where friends will be received. THE WALter McCoy post, American Legion, and the John Whire post, Verterans Of Foreign Wars will be in charge of a military funeral. Altoona Mirror wed 8/12/1932 p. 16
