I am a 6th great grandaughter of Esther Yake through her husband, Abraham Baker (1775-1838). I'm led to believe they married in the late 1790's in Pennsylvannia, not sure what county. They travelled North to Upper Canada (now Ontario) about 1803 with 3 children in tow. Abraham & Esther settled & farmed in Flamborough Twp. (Gore County) Ontario. Esther's father, Johann "Daniel" Yake & wife, Mary Nicely also came North during the same time period and stayed a while in the Hamilton (Gore County) area but then moved North again to settle in Stouffville, Ontario.
