Seeking information on my husband's grandfather John Tom Yancy b. 9-20-1843 probably in Alabama. Possibly the son Thomas Hines Yancey and Mary Elizabeth Floyd. John Tom married Elizabeth L. Harten 1868 in Myrtle, Oregon Co., MO they had 9 known children, Alice, John, Calvin Lewallen, Charles J., Ida Emma, Ada Bell, Robert, Curren Jeffry, and David D. Yancy. Elizabeth passed away 2-28-1900 in Oregon Co., MO. John Tom married Alva Etter Hays on 9-12-1901 in Oregon Co., MO. They had 8 children Perry Green, Noah Edgar, Ada Bell, Mary Altha, Wiley Benton, Virgie Lucille, General Lee and Minnie Genlda. My husband is Minnie's 7th child, according to Minnie her father was in the Tennessee Calvary Confederate. John Tom died on 3-9-1935 in Biggers, Randolph Co., Arkansas and is buried in Myrtle, Oregon Co., MO.
