Vernon Yancey, 86 Floral City, FL

Vernon P. Yancey, 86, Floral City, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Brooksville.

He was born in Herron, Ill., and moved here 24 years ago from Crown Point, Ind.

Mr. Yancey was a retired journeyman iron worker for 44 years, and a member of the Masonic Lodge 157 Lake Lodge of Crown Point, Ind.

He was a member of Eden Baptist Church of Brooksville.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of Floral City; four sons, Jesse Yancey of Brooksville, Richard Yancey of Crown Point, Ind., and Ronald and Frank P. Yancey, both of Floral City; a stepdaughter, Glenda Langworthy of Brooksville; a sister, Evelyn Chamness of Carbondale, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
