I also have a picture with Yeagers that I cannot identify.
On the back it says, "The Yeager Family." I know one person is Charles F. Yeager and that it was taken in Toledo, Ohio at 139 Earl Street. That home belonged to Rev. Leroy Warren and his wife, Mary (Miller). Charles F. Yeager married Carrie M. Warren, daughter of Leroy and Mary. I will post this picture after I get a better copy made.

May I recommend the book "Rock Creek Crossings" by Anne Fitzgerald, published in 1991. It has many many pictures of the Yeagers going back to George W. I tcan be ordered at Alibris.com

Best luck. I believe I can be of help with identification. I had to wrestle the family album away from the family compound in NH. My grandmother was a nut about identifying.

--Dorian

If there is a male descendant of John B, Yeager available, a DNA test via the Germanna DNA Project could tell if there is a connection to the Germanna Colonies. I am the group administrator for the Germanna DNA Project and a Yeager descendant. We have two Nicholas Jager (1717) descendants already tested to compare to.

If you have someone that is willing to be tested, go to www.Germanna.org and click on the DNA Project link and order a test. I a month you will know if there is a connection to the Germanna Colonies. I recommend the 25 or 37 Marker test. When the results come back, contact the Group Administrator to find out what the results show.

Sincerely yours,
Corlee Morris

KS)... any chance you could help me confirm/deny the identity of this man in the photo as your George? contact me if you'd like me to e-mail the jpeg to you. I got this from a whole scrapbook of YEAGER photos in posession of a cousin of mine, but alas -- most were not identified / written on.

Karen

Dorian,
While I still have no concrete leads on John B. YEAGER's ancestry, I do have a few photos of some of his kids. From which child do you descend?

I have gathered quite a bit of biographical information on our John B. YEAGER over the years, too ... contact me! kbreach at pinenet dot com (preferred address) or kbreach@juno.com.

I see your last name is YEAGER... have any of the male YEAGERs in your family done the DNA testing for the YEAGER surname? Such testing could be the answer to our longstanding (and incredibly thick) brick wall!

Karen

John B. was my great-great-great grandfather. After the death of his wife Eliza (Elizabeth A.) Juvenall, he relocated to Iowa and married Amanda Perrin in 1850. Starting in 1851 the first of their three children was born. In order: Chester, Cyrus and Martha or Mary Eliza. He was betwitxt and between Indiana and Iowa a few times and frankly I get VERY confused. Best luck. If you ever come across any information on John B's parents, I would really appreciate it. I have lots of information giving his birth as 1805 as well as 1794. Go figure.

I am seeking any information about George W. Yeager who was born in PA on March 17, 1848. He married Lovina Noll and had at least four children: Howard, Charles, Sylvester and Tessa. I have information that leads me to believe that his father's name was John and his mother's name was possibly Sarah. I believe that most of the children (Howard and Charles) moved to Ohio sometime in the late 1800's. I am directly related to Sylvester Yeager, who died in Berks County in 1934. Any matches and information you can share is appreciated! Thank you.

Clifford,

If you go to my Family Tree "Dan Franklin Family" at Ancestry.com; you will be able to see all these pictures. Do a search for Nikolaus Jager b.1678. When you find him, you will see pictures of the area and some documents.

If you have problems, e-mail me at DanRFranklin@yahoo.com and I will send you an invite to the Family Tree.

Dan

Hi, I don't know if this is the same family of Yeagers, but here's my information. My relative is Sarah Mahaffey who married John Yeager. I believe she was the stepmother to all his children: Edward, John, Sarah and George W. George was the youngest and shows in the 1860 census as "7". Sarah and John were married sometime after 1850 and he must have died before 1862. Does this sound right for you?

Jerome B. Yeager

I am seeking information on the family of Jerome B. Yeager. He was born in June, 1846, I think the son of Henry H. and Mary Yeager, with siblings Angelichor, William, John, Seldon, Martha, and Emma. He married my cousin Harriet E. Dalrymple in 1873 in Wisconsin. I find Jerome and Harriet in the 1880 census living in Madison, PA. (By the way, they are living very close to Henry Gaige who married Harriet's sister Mary, also in Wisconsin.) By 1900 (OH! to have the 1890 census!) Harriet is gone, and I find Jerome still in Madison, PA, but with a different wife, Jennie. Jerome and Jennie then appear in the 1910 census in PA. By 1920 Jennie is gone, and Jerome is married to Anne, and they are still there in 1930. I'm trying to find out what happened to Harriet and if Jerome and Harriet had any children.
I believe this to be the Thomas Benton Yager listed as 10 years old living in Piqua, Ohio, in 1850. He was living in the household of George Yager who was born around 1794 in Pennsylvania. Wapakaneta was NOT the enlistment location for Miami county, but was for Auglaize county. A Thomas Yager is listed in the household of Theodore Yager of Auglaize in 1860. I believe Theodore to be the older brother of Thomas. Their father died in 1854 in Piqua.

He was married twice and my gggrandfather, Peter was a son of is second wife Lydia Seyler Emmerick. Where was Hans Martin born? What dates or other info do you have? This is the first hint I have had back beyond Andrew in over fifteen years of doing this.....
