Correction to jdyewell's reference to Jerry Yewell. Jerry L. Yewell was born in Starkville, Mississippi and is not the Jerry listed in Arkansas. Jerry L. Yewell's mother Jesse moved with her two sons, Roy and Jerry L. Yewell to Kansas and Jerry L. Yewell later married Vivian Hatfield. They had two children, Steve and Karen.

This is my grandfather too.I am Carolyn Yewell Foshee. Our grandfather was from Covington Tenn. Tipton Co. Our great grandfather was John Stanton Yewell. He married Mary E. Coats in Covington on March 24,1877. Hope this is of help to you.Let me know if you receive this. If you have any thing you would like to share I would like to receive it. I am doing a geneology on both my mothers side of the family and daddys side.It is alot of fun.

What was your great grandfather's first name? My great grandmother, Linda Elizabeth Yewell, m. Judge Horace Maynard Haskins and they lived in Owensboro. I once thought the Yewell's were from England, too....but research has proved otherwise. Email me privately......I'd love to chat with you about the Yewell's.

My gggg-grandfather, John H. Yewell, was born 15 October 1794. In some records his place of birth is listed as Maine and in some it is listed as New York. He married Mary Ann Calder 08 November 1832. Does anyone know the place that this marriage took place?

Yewell in Poinsett County, AR

I just was looking for Yewell in AR and MS today. I found John H. Yewell, born Sept. 1885 in TN, and his father and mother are listed as born in TN. This is on a census, so you know that could be wrong, but he was living in the house with Mary Bayle, and is listed as being her son. She also had 2 more children living in the house, Lucy J. Bayle born Aug. 1891 and Vassie E. Bayle born Feb. 1888. Mary Bayle is listed as being born Dec. 1858 and all born in TN. This was on the 1900 U. S. Census for Tyronza, Poinsett County, AR .

Listed below are names in the Tyronza Cemetery. Hope this helps someone. I am not personally related to Yewell, but I have cousins who are through Stracener. Thomas Stracener and wife Edna E. Born Aug. 1879 from TN. lived in the next residence from Mary Bayle and John H. Yewell in the 1900 census that I mentioned. I don't remember if this is the one my cousins are related by or not. If I can find that info, I will come back and post again.

My granfather was Horace Yewell (from Colorado), but his father came from Owensboro KY.

I am travling through KY in a month and intend to do some research in Owensboro.

I know my family origionally came from Wilbarston England in 1636

She was a retired supervising clerk for the Internal Revenue Service and a member of Lynnhurst United Church of Christ.
Survivors; a daughter, Helen E. Ramsey; two sons, Walter S. Goettel; three sisters, Gladys and Doris Goff and Ida Wiseman; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday, Nunnelly Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd. Buriel; Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation: 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Vivian Goettel, Mrs. Eunice Wierwille, and Mr. Douglas Yewell; also survived by 4 grandchildren. Remains resting at Owen Funeral Home 2611 Virginia Ave. Funeral services, Tuesday afternoon, 1:30 p.m. from Owen Chapel. Buriel at Evergreen Cemetery.

I am looking for info on Robert S. Haskins born 1851 in Kentucky moved to Howell Co. Mo. West Plains. He married Martha Johnson Coffee they had two chidren Maggie my ggrandmother and Christopher.He married again in1893 in Hartshorne Oklahoma Pittsburg Co. He died in the early 1900`s and I think buried in Ohio. All INFO appreciated.

Searching for Alfred Haskins m. Arrabella Miller, both from TN.

They are the parents of my great grandfather, Judge Horace Maynard Haskins (TN 1842-1904) m. Linda Elizabeth Yewell (KY 1844-1940) in Union, KY on March 4, 1858/68. Lived in Owensboro, Daviess County, KY.

I have a family letter which mentions Horace's 'brothers'...I believe he may have been the youngest.

Horace & Linda's children: Olive (m. Clem Brown), Nannie Bell, Horace Jr, Yewell, Lewis, Elizabeth Todd, Beverly, Joseph Martin Haskins (my grandfather), Linwood, and Lyde Todd born between the years: 1869-1887. Horace and Horace, Jr. (maybe Lewis, too) buried: Elmwood Cemetery, Owensboro, KY.

Linda Yewell's parents: Sarah Elizabeth Lewis (KY 1820-1890) m. Major Harrison Yewell (KY 1811-1885) in Nelson County, KY on January 23, 1836. Lived in Bardstown, KY.

Sarah Lewis' parents: Henry Lewis (VA 1789-1864) & Volinda "Linda" Clagett Linthicum (KY 1795-1859) m. Nelson County, KY on July 7, 1812 and buried: Lewis Farm Cemetery, Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky.

Harrison Yewell's parents: Martin Yewell (VA 1787-1850) m. Nancy Foreman (KY 1790-1874) on June 16, 1809 in Nelson, KY. Buried: Miller Creek Cemetery, Nelson, KY.

I would appreciate ANY information...especially on the elusive Haskins!

My great-grandfather was Richard Yewell. I think his father's name was Frank. Richard's father died and when his mother remarried the family moved to Kansas after the Civil War. Richard knew the James's and Fords'. Richard moved back to Ky, married Martha Lewis and had five sons. He is buried in Davises County Ky.

Hello there! I was on the internet and came across this geneology site and for fun typed in my last name--I had no idea there were so many Yewells in USA!!! I am from British Columbia, Canada. My great-grandfather-his name was Horace-was born in Kentucky. I am not sure when he moved to Canada. His wife, I think she was....french? I don't really know much about my Yewell's side geneology. My grandfather, Howard Donald Yewell (goes by Don) was born in Canada. My father, Rodney Lawson Yewell was born in Olds, Alberta.
