Hello, I know this email I just read is quite old since it is dated 2001 and it is now 2008, but I just read this information and my grandmother is the daughter of Celeste Yorba and Alexander Burmudez too. So we are related I believe and would like to know who your grandmother is, so we can share more information.

You can get a hold of me at gametcalf@yahoo.com

Hi William

You have the information on my grandmother Sophie Yorba Rushton. You gave it to me in a previous msg. Check our postings. Anyway, her mother was Theresa Marron married to Vicente G. Yorba. Your DOB for Sophie is correct. Now there may be a mispelling of Sophie... my grandmother always went by Sophie not Sophia. Who knows maybe Theresa mispelled it on Sophie's birth certificate...

When I first contacted you, I was looking for Vicente's father.... that was my only missing link. Please refer back to your msg to me regarding this lineage... I'm in the middle of putting our family album together and I'd like to have the correct family line.

I also was wondering if I sent you some pictures would you be able to identify some people for me? Let me know when you get a chance.

Thank you
Deidre Paroske

Hi Deidre

I'm a little confused about your grandmother Sophie Yorba Rushton. There's a SSN listing for Sophie Rushton with the DOB as 29 Oct 1902. Is this your grandmother? It would help connect some dots if I knew who her mother/father were.

The only other Sofia Yorba I find so far is a daughter of Trinidad Yorba.

best wishes
William Dean

Hi,

The information I have is Julia Dryden (b. 1860) was the dau. of William Dryden and Ana Josefa Juliana Dominguez. Dyden was originally from Kentucky. He was a judge and also involved in the Los Angeles Water Co. Ana Josefa (b. 1829) was the eldest dau. of Don Manuel and Dona Maria Engracia Dominguez. She married very late in life and he marriage was short in duration as the seventy-year-old Dryden died of a heart attack less than a year later. Julia was their only child.

Julia married Bernardo Yorba (b. 1855) 28 Sep 1878 at the Los Angeles Plaza Church. I show their children as:
Francisco Xavier
Bernardo M. Yorba III
Beatrice Arnaz

Hello Sophie (cousin)
I dont know if you've already found this info., but Vicente G. Yorba (married to Theresa Marron) was the son of Odoricio Yorba (1844-1913) and Anita Peralta (died 1890). Odoricio was the son of Bernardo Yorba (1801-1858) and Felipa Dominguez (1812-1851). Bernardo was the son of Jose Antonio Yorba (the first) (1743-1825) and Maria Josefa Grijalva (1766-1830).

well this is what I have found out so far...as for proof, well that is another story that will take forever to explain!
my grandmother is the daughter of Celeste Yorba and Alexander Burmudez.Celeste was marred a total of 4 times, Alexander being her last husband. Celeste Yorba is the daughter of Miguel Yorba and Avalina Avila. We think that Miguel yorba is the son of Tomas Antonio Yorba. We beilve this due to the fact that Miguel Yorba is the only one that I have found that died the same year as we know that our Miguel died, in 1904. Now the Miguel Yorba on the Ed Hoffs page does not have any family listed with it, But that does not mean that this is not our family line.
If you have any information that can help me proove all of this it would be uch appreciated. I know that my grandmother can get a copy of Celeste's baptismal certifacte. she also has her birth cert. but we dont have any record of Miguel that I know of. so that is where I am...If your mom or anyone else has done any reserch or has any other information I would love to have it.
Thank you

Ed hoff's list is not conplete. please dont think that it is wrong, there are just a few places that things are not added. I have found that my family is not listed there either. we are in the process of sending the information to Ed Hoff so that it may be added. But you have to have the verification that that is where your family belongs. This is where I have run into the problems since most of my family is dead and it is hard to find all the evidance. So far i think that Ed Hoffs page is the most detailed if not hard to understand.
If you have all of your family information send it to Ed Hoff and he will be sure to add it to the correct place. good luck

Hello Cousin!!! (about a 120th probably)

My GGGG-Grandfather was Don Bernardo Yorba. His last wife, Davila ( I can't remember her first name, I am not my mother,) was my GGGG-Grandmother.

My mother is Patricia Wilkes-Velasco, who is a retired/active member of the Native Daughter's of the Goldenwest. My mother is the researcher of the family, and as we grew up, we learned about our history in Orange County. I am a ninth generation Californian and proud of it. I'm not sure of her e-mail address, but she would have "all/everyone's" answers.

She has traveled extensivly around the world collecting info on our huge, huge family.

When I bought my condo in Anaheim Hills, she made a joke about it. She said, well you were able to buy back some of our property. I jokingly said, yeah and I got 1100 sq ft and it only cost me $150,000.00.

Hi, Clorinda

I truly believe that you are my cousin, and the reason I say this is becouse our families used to get together when we were younger. Anyway, I'm having a hard time finding out who was married to Trinidad Yorba. I was told that his wifes name was Esperanza Reice (Ruiz). However, I don't have the year or city they were born in!. Can you help?.

Also, they would be my Great Great Grandparents. I would like to exchange phone numbers if all possible. I think I can get your phone number from your dad (Harold).?
I'm sure he talks to parents and or go's to their house once in a while. Please advise. Take Care

Rebecca

Bernardo Antonio Yorba & Maria Andrea Elisalde

Bernardo & Maria Yorba had 5 children according to Ed Hoff's Jose Antonio Yorba Descendants. Their first son, Bernardo Antonio Yorba II married Julia Dryden, they had two children, Bernardo Yorba "Benny" & Beatrice Arnaz Yorba (my great grandmother). My question is: On Ed's list, under my Great Uncle Benny's name if a son Bernardo "Ben" Yorba IV. Benny died when he was quite young, in his 20's in Singapore. He had no children. Just wondering who these descendant Yorba children are. Are they real or have they been misplaced on the list. Under Beatrice Arnaz Yorba there are no children listed, but here I am and that's were myself & a few others should be listed, so there are mistakes on this list. Also any info on Julia Dryden's family would be helpful, thanks.

Aurora Adolfo are my grandparents. I am looking for any other marriage connections.

I also know a little about Maria Vicenta Sepulveda born 1813 (daughter of Francisco Sepulveda) who married Tomas Antonio Yorba (son of Jose Antonio Yorba). They married in 1834 at Mission San Gabriel.

Do you know of any other connections? I know they're out there. I have a photocopied picture of another Sepulveda/Yorba marriage (can't remember the names offhand) but I don't know who they're descended from. Have you done much research on the Yorba line? Have any verbal history to pass along? Or pictures?

I'd love to share info.

Kelly

They corresponded with my husband's grandmother in the 1960s. Grandfather Lester Casagrande gave me a copy of this letter when Crystal passed away. The envelope became separated from the letter but I believe it to be from the (see subject line) Yorbas. The letter is from Lois, daughter of Rose Casagrande who may have married a D.M. Rupert and lived in Arcata in 1941. Hope someone can help. Post reply or email lilcasa@hotmail.com
