Surnames: York, Rice, Petty, Leonard
looking for parents of Howard Ross YORK b 1908 Guilford N Car his death record on- line states father is William YORK.
Is this William M YORK b ca 1854 ( son of Brantley YORK Jr) by a second wife? William M married Jenny Leonard in Guilford CO 1875 and seems to have one daughter in 1880 census Julia b 1877. No wife is with him however in 1880 and William M is living with father Brantley.William M dies in Guilford in 1939 and would have been 61 when fathering Howard.. not likely but not impossible.I have found no other Guildford marriage records for William M YORK. Can anyone fill me in on these families?
Oh and who is William Petty listed as brother in law to Brantley YORK in 1880.? Ross made vague references to the racing Petty family in N CAr.
