Mr. Young retired as a supervisor in the parole division for the State of Ohio after 30 years. Earlier, he retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant. Born in Wathena, Kan., (Doniphan County) he moved to this area in 1999 from Athens, Ohio. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge in Thornville, Ohio, and was a member of the Lions Club in Thornville and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Athens. Mr. Young served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen W.; one son, Mark of Longwood; three daughters, Sara Zollinger of DeLand, Carla Young of Norfolk, Va., and Ann O'Neill of Virginia Beach, Va.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
