Wondering if you have marriage information for John Yundt (b 1813), the grandson of John Yundt b 1756 and great-grandson of Johann Georg Jundt (b 1719). I see a lot of "Elizabeths" but no other information like marriage date or her surname. thanks.

I have a George Leon Houghton, born 5 Oct 1876 in Indian Village, Tama County, IA. He is the son of Edward Ledoit Houghton, b 1851 Whittingham, Windham, VT,d 1937 err County, TX and Ione Shellenberger. Edward Ledoit was the son of David Houghton, b 1821 Whittingham, Windham, VT, d 1904 Tama County, IA and Sophronia Parker Putnam. David was the son of James Houghton, b 1798 and d 1868 Whittingham, Windham, VT and Sarah Smith. James was the son of Elias Houghton, b 1774 Windham, CT, d 1805 Benton, VT and Sarah Gilbert. From there, I have Edward Houghton, Jr (1740 - 1803 CT);Edward, 1700 MA - 1778 CT;James c 1650-1711 MA; and lastly Ralph, b 1623 England - 1705 MA.
Since Edward ledoit's daughter Else married my uncle, I only have Houghton going backward, not interested in following siblings forward at this time. Maybe having a date and place of birth will help

Hello - my family is also doing research on Houghton. I am very curious about dates concerning George Leon Houghton. My great grand father was George H. Houghton who had 4 boys: Leon Dent Houghton(guessing - born 1886 in Attleboro, MA), Harold Dale Houghton born 1888 in Attleboro, MA, Shirley A. Houghton, born August 1892 and Earl Amfield Houghton born in Attleboro, MA 12/27/1893 (my grandfather). My great grandfather, George H. Houghton born between 1836-1840 in England married Alice E. Snow (second marriage) in Chelsea, MA. She was born 3/25/1856 in Vasselboro, ME and died 11/10/1894. After Alice died (the mother) and then the father died (1894) the 4 boys listed above were then farmed out to different people to raise in Maine, one of which was Mary Snell Dixon who took in Shirley and Earl (the youngest) and the two oldest, Harold and Leon were given to relatives (we don't know who). Eventually my grandfather, Earle was contacted by Harold - but the 3 brothers never again reunited or found out what happened to their brother Leon Dent Houghton. We are still looking for him and his family - of what happened to him.

My name is David Yundt.
In the 1980's my father, Blaine, and I drove to Lanaster, Pa.
At the Lancaster County Historical Society we were allowed to view and copy an outline of the family of Hans George Jundt. It was 79 legal pages, single spaced. I scanned the pages until I found my father's name and then back-tracked, making copies of the line that led me to him and his father, Roy.
In searching my copies I found the John Yundt who married Rachel Simone and Elizabeth Bucher, as well as details about the family of John Jacob Simone Yundt and his wife Mary Eby who moved from Lancaster County to Naperville, Ill.
If I am reading this chart correctly, I am a descendant of John's son (John Jacob Simone's brother), George, born August 28, 1789.

What information would you like?
I will help you in anyway that I can.

David

Re: Joseph Yundt - Obituary

Joseph Yundt is my 3g-grandfather (through his daughter Harriett who married Josepg Ellis Oglesby). I'm curious if you have proof that he was the son of Leonard Yundt Sr. and his wife Sarah? Near as I've been able to determine, Sarah was born abt 1765, making her about 46 years old when Joseph was born. It seems more likely that he is the son of Leonard Yundt, Jr., and his wife Catherine Kalbfus; they were married 28 or 29 Sep 1808 in Baltimore. I've kind of assumed that Leonard Jr. is the son of Leonard & Sara, and brother to Ann, Sarah and Margaret Yundt, known daughters of Leonard and Sarah who married between 1805 and 1815. In the 1880 Census, Joseph's parents are shown as being from Switzerland, which would kind of support him being son of Leonard Sr. & Sarah. Very confusing.

Looking for any other descendants of this Yundt line.

Thanks!

Joe

So glad to read the postings on the TenBroeck/Yundt connection. My connection is with Mary Yundt m. Wm. Pray TenBroeck and had Joseph Anthony 1872-1941. He m. my great-Aunt Clara Daniell in Laurium , MI. He was transfered by the epis. church to Oakland CA. I "met "his son over he phone this summer, Anthony tenBroeck-92 yrs. old.

How does this fit in with your info.? How fortunate that Joseph Yundt's obit. was posted by a nice person. I have
very little on that family.

I have a whole notebook on the TenBroeck's and their related families from the 1600's. I find it fascinating to learn history. Last summer I visited Albany and the TenBroeck house.

I would be glad to share some info. it it fits. Sheila

I have just figured out that Elsie Houghton was married to my uncle, Martin Bernard Yundt. Do you have any information on the Yundt side of the family from Texas? I don't know anything of the Houghtons although I do know that Else was from Kansas.
