I have come across three women/girls with the name or maiden name of Zair in Gnosall Parish in the censuses from 1841 onwards. Having looked it up (briefly) I find that as such it comes especially from N.W. Poland.
I think all three sisters are related, given their alleged birthdates. In one of the later censuses one of them states that she was 'born at Sea', which at first I thought was a sort of joke (but now I'm not so sure!)
Regards, Penny

Looking for Zaier relatives. Ancestors came to America from Germany as Zwickelmaier's and changed the last name to "Zaier".
