My whole family is from michoacan. My grandfathers name is Daniel Zaragoza. His fathers name was Jose Zaragoza. My grandfather has a brother named Samuel and another brother named Ruben. All Zaragoza. They are from a small town in Michoacan called Penjamillo. Hope this helps!! :)

Well i'm a zaragoza too, i was born in puerto rico but my great grandfather came from spain. my grandpa he was born in puerto rico. i decided to look for the origin of my last name because is very rear to see my last name anywhere.... but now i see there is a lot of people with that name too. lol

Hi, my name is Maria Zaragoza and my family is from Zamora Michoacan. My dad is Jose Jorge Zaragoza and my gradpa's name was also Jose Zaragoza and he was married to Maria De Jesus Zaragoza Pulido and his dads name was Lorenzo Zaragoza Milian. I been asking my dad about the origin of our family but he never bother to ask and I really want to find out more. I would really appreciate your help.

Hi Jose,

I live in Vallejo, CA, born & raised. My dad is Ernersto Fernandez Zaragoza, son of Maria de Jesus Fernandez and Maximino Matias Zaragoza. My dad was born in Ucacuaro, Michoacan, a very small ranch town, in 1951. My grandfather was born in 1928. My great-grandfater's name is Jose Maria Zaragoza, not sure of his birth year.

I have always been interested in my family tree, specifically the Zaragoza side (probably because it's a city in Spain). I have characteristics that lead others to believe that I am not Mexican :( ie. I am very light skinned and have freckles; my eyes are almond shaped & light brown; and I'm between 5'9" & 5'10" (my dad is 6'2"). Anyways, I see that this post is dated March 2008. Hopefully, you have found more info since then.

Hello everyone my name is Jacqueline Zaragoza Lara and my family is from Michoacan. I don't know much about my family but I have asked questions and what I have found is that fathers grandfathers name is Ramon Zaragoza who was married to a Macaria Reyes in Aranjuez Michoacan and that he came to the U.S either right after or before my grandfather (Jesus Zaragoza Reyes) was born. Are your Zaragoza's from Sabana Grande? I have been researching the Juana Diaz/Villalba/Ponce Zaragozas who are said to be related to Jose Luis Zaragoza born c 1880. It is said that Jose was related to the Zaragoza's of Juana Diaz, Sabana Grande, Mayaguez and perhaps other localities but I have not found THE connection yet. Was hoping I could in Sabana Grande.

I aslo, have heard about the possible relation to General Ignacio Zaragoza, and am trying to trace my family roots back to him.

I don't have too much information regarding my Zaragoza family. However, I am trying to research with the info that I do know, and am determined. It's been kind of tough for me since my info is limited and not so sure if the info I do have is actually factual.

I'm looking for any surviving family that may obtain more family info/history.

Here is a quick rundown of my family history:

Maternal Grandmother: Maria "Dolores" Sanchez (maiden) born in 1937 in San Francisco, CA
her siblings: Louie and Carlos "Charlie" Zaragoza Sanchez (twins) born 1930 (in SF, CA ...I think)

her parents:
Father: Jose R. Sanchez (I believe his last name was Rodriguez, but changed to Sanchez). He was born somewhere in Mexico on about 23 December 1899.
I have no more info regarding him or his parents/family.
Mother: Rebecca Zaragoza D.O.B. 28 September 1900 in Villa Corona, Jalisco, MX.
She immigrated, I believe, on 28 May 1926 along with her Father and siblings. The destination on immigration form states the family was going to a relatives house, Maria Luz Zaragoza, in Los Angeles, CA.
(I know my family ended up in Monterey and San francisco area in CA.

her grandparents:
Grandfather: Eusebio Zaragoza DOB 1869 in Villa Corona, Jalisco, MX
Grandmother: Maria Refugia Cortes de Zaragoza DOB 1873 in Guadalajara, MX

Other names in my family are:
Concepcion Zaragoza
Jose Adan Zaragoza
Juelian Zaragoza (or Julian)
Maria Concepcion Zaragoza
Blas Zaragoza
Maria Marcos Zaragoza
Jesus Zaragoza
Maria Eva Zaragoza (Eva Z Jaramillo)

Regarding Ignacio Zaragoza:
The story has been told to me that this was a family member, who was the "famous"General in Mexican Revlolution. His bithplace was in MX which is now Texas.

Let me know if any of this info rings a bell with your info.

I think a lot of my family was from Jalisco, Mexico...mainly Villa Corona and Guadalajara.

Also, it was told to me that my original Zaragoza family migrated from Spain to Mexico (Castelian).
and that a lot or some members were involved in Spanish and Mexican politics and one person I guess was a governor in Mexico.

My Grand father from my mothers side is Jose Zaragoza. His father is Ramon Zargoza. His mothers name is Esabel Farias. My name is Miguel Rincon. I recently started work on our family tree and I'm currently working on getting birth certificates for all Grand Parents. As soon as I get those I will post info online. I am trying to see how far back I can go with my family tree. Once I have my Grandfathers birth cert I'll have his parents names which will take me into the 1700's. If anyone has family from Colima or Michoacan, Mexico with the last names of Zaragoza, Farias, Rincon, Mejia, Angulo, and Chavez we might be related.

My father's name is Salvador. He was raised in Santa Anna GU which is a border town to La Piedad MI. I don't know much about his family but I know my grandfathers name is Manuel. I just started to do research on my family maybe we are related.. :)

This post is seven years old, so I hope someone replies. Anyways, my grandfather was an Ignacio Zaragoza from what my mother told me. The last name Rangel sounds familiar and as far as the thirteen children, I think my mother may have been one of them. She moved from Stockton in the late 70's I beileve.

I don't know much about that side of the family. Thought I would do a search online and came across this so hope someone replies.

The name Zaragoza was originally Saragossa, derived and given from Ceasar Augustus based on his two imperial house holds to the town of what now is Zaragoza, Spain.

There is a chance you may be related to General Ignacio Seguin Zaragoza, also the General had a cousin from his mother's side, a Colonel Siguin - who is a Texas legend.
