My great grandmother, Mary Zarnowski, was born in Poland on 9/8/1880. She died in 1964. She married Frank Okoniewski, also from Poland. I think her hometown was Bobin, and Frank's was in or around Warsaw. They had 10 children: Sylvia (my grandmother); Hedwig (aka Hattie); Ceil; Alice; Richard and some others. They married in 1901 and came to New York in 1906. They lived in Chicago and a few other places before coming to Michigan. I know very little other than that, and I'm looking for any information on Mary's and Frank's family. <br>I hope this was of some use. If not, good luck!

Any of you Zarnowski researchers know of a Zarnowski being in the Air Cadet (Pilot) Training program of WW2. First name Unknown. Possibly stationed in Calif. I have a photo of a cousin with what is assumed another cadet named Zarnowski.
Hi Richard, I JUST started researching my roots... My pop-pop Frank was born on the east coast but his father Joseph Zarnowski was born in Poland but I have not found where as yet. I will be happy to trade information with you if you wish, I am intently searching. I have found many living Zarnoski/Zarnowskis in the USA and several abroad, most of whom I have recently written! Let me know how things are going at your end. Other names I am searching include Stanowski Wawraszko. Best regards!

It's hard to know if we're related unless you give me some details. My grandmother was born Zofia Zarnowska but in Cleveland it was often spelled Sophie Zarnowski. She was born in the village of Luzna near the city of Gorlice in south central Poland, in 1884. She immigrated to the US when she was 16 years old and in 1904 she married Michal Tomon. I know of one relative who came with her, a sister named Kunegunda who later married Frank Piwowar.

Zarnoski Family

Interesting info on this family, my mother was a Zarnoski, family consisted of Caroline/Joseph (parents), John (Jay), Frank, William, Stella, Louie, Lucille, Josephine, Rose, Kate, Marian. Aunt Josie is the only survivor, she seems to feel the name was spelled Zarnowski. Jay, Frank and Bill all were married to a "Mary" (of course not the same one. Jay I believe had a daughter, Elsie, Frank I believe had two children. I have no knowledge of where these children may be at this time. Frank never remarried, however, Bill and Jay did. Any connection to this family? They all grew up in Lakewood, Ohio in the bird town area.
