I'm looking for information on Georg Zaun. He was born on 4/2/1892 in Kassel,Hessen,Germany and died on 5/17/1973 in Marburg an der Lahn,Hessen,Germany. He was married to
Mathilde Fisher but I don't know the date. His children are Georg, Herbert, Gisela and Heinz.

I'm looking for more of his life's details and any information on his parents/siblings.

I think Lois Zaun that you are talking of may be my mother. I would like to know if you have any info on her wherabouts? She and my father divorced when I was a baby and I would like to meet her , I was born in Queens NY in 1959 , I know my father was stationed in Illinois for awhile . I believe she was living in Fla. I knew a Ronald Richard Gordon whose mother was Lois Zaun and father was Ronald Gordon. He lived in College Point, New York, but I think he was originally from the Bronx. I'd have to check. He died in 1988. I'm trying to find relatives of his for a family member who is looking. If you have any info it would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt. 1st Class Mickey E. Zaun, 27, of Brooklyn Park, Minn., died Jan. 28 in Mosul, Iraq, from injuries sustained in a collision between two armored vehicles. Zaun was assigned to the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.

This incident is under investigation.

I am searching for information on Lois Alberta Zaun, who was born in New York on April 23, 1939 to Edward John Zaun and Mary Dannenfelser-Zaun.

Her siblings were Ruth (Cloke), Joan (Zinna), and Alan Zaun.

Her married name may at one time have been Gordon or Gordan, and she may also have lived in CA, FL, NV, and IL.

Both died around 1963 and 1965 in Kansas City. They had 10 children,
Byron, Burt, John, George, Eugenia, Gladys, Irene, Mary Katherine, Emily. Most off lived in Kansas City. I"m interested in the Zaun/Evan's lineage. These were my grandparents., My mother was Emily Zaun Gretzinger.

Heinrich Gabriel Kurz and Christina Margaretha Zaun, from Ober Saulheim, Rheinhessen, Hesse, Darmstadt, are my 4th great grandparents. Their son, Peter Kurtz (b. 30 Nov 1829), immigrated to America in 1871 and settled in Hancock County, Ohio. Any information on Heinrich & Christina would be greatly appreaciated. Family history gives me their names and years of birth, but that's it.

My 3ggreat grandfather was Gabriel Kurtz (Kurz). He was one of twelve children born to Heinrich Gabriel Kurz and Christina Zaun in Ober Saulheim, Rheinhessen, Hesse, Darmstadt. I would be glad to share the information I do have although for the Zaun side it is somewhat limited now. I do know that there are more extensive records available through the Church of Latter Day Saints. Yes it is true that Gabriel's siblings did live in Washington County. I can provide some informaton about them and some addtiional links if you are interested.

I have some information regarding the Kurz/Zaun connection you seek. Heinrich Gabriel Kurz and Christiana Margarethe Zaun are my 4GG grandparents. One of their sons is Gabriel Kurz/Kurtz who was married to Sophia Salame nee Marik. The came to Milwaukee and Wisconsin in 1845; they divorced in 1879. They are my 3GG grandparents. Kurtz and Zaun actually had a number of children and I have additional information which I would be glad to share with you if you are interested.

I can look on the microfilm again to get more exact info, but it was from Evangelical Church records from Framersheim, Germany from the LDS microfilms. I know Christian Stellwagen's family lived there in Wisconsin, but my line from Michael Stellwagen immigrated to Wayne Co., Michigan. But, I have a letter from a distant relative that states that Michael & Christian were brothers, but what I have found in church records does not support that.....so I am trying to figure out if & how these Wisconsin & Michigan Stellwagens are connected. I am trying to trace back their German roots though and see if I can find the connection there & also see how the Stellwagens knew the Zauns. If I fond anything else I will gladly share with you!

Thanks so much for writing! I do know of a Stellwagen family [about 1850-1860] that lived in Mequon, Ozaukee county, Wisconsin & is about 5 minutes from where I live. I am going to investigate details for you.

My Jacob & Christine [nee Stauss] Zaun are from Schwabsburg bei Nierstein - a town my dad and I had a chance to visit when we went to Europe in April 2000. I would like to find the church they attended and see if I can find any records. We did not have enough time to do that when we were there, unfortunately.

I am not a Zaun descendant that I know of, but I am a Stellwagen descendant & on one of my ancestor's baptismal records it lists Jacob Zaun as the sponsor. It says: Jacob Zaun-he is the unmarried son of the citizen Jacob Zaun who is a member of teh Protestant church council here in Nieder-Saulheim (Germany). So I think that the sponsor is the Jacob jr. that you speak of. You also say that Jacob Sr. & Christine immigrated from Hessen & Nieder-Saulheim was in Hesse-Darmstadt. The baptismal record is for my ggguncle, Johann Jacob Stellwagen. So he was named after your Jacob Zaun. Johann Jacob's parents were Michael Stellwagen, originally of Framersheim, Germany, and Anna Elisabetha Endlich of Nieder-Saulheim. I imagine that Michael & Elisabetha were good friend with the Zaun family & that is why Jacob jr. sponsored their son. Have you ever heard of these Stellwagens or Stellwagens in general? My line here immigrated to Michigan, but I know other Stellwagen lines immigrated to Wisconsin too.

son, fred. had 9 kids. knew 3 of them and met
a fourth, jake, from minnesota (was a physician, as
