AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Private funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at 11 a.m at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home Inc. for Ann R. Root, 89, who died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 6, 1921, in Czechoslovakia, a daughter of the late Joseph Zayac and the late Ann Krebes.
She was a graduate of Garfield High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania (Cambria County) and a member of St. Joseph’s Church on New Road and of its Ladies Guild.
She was also a volunteer at St. Joseph Senior Citizens and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She worked as a nurse in Johnstown, and moved to Youngstown, Ohio in 1950.
Surviving are her two daughters, Patricia (Jim) Granitto of Poland, Ohio and Victoria (Clifford) Protzman of Youngstown, Ohio; six grandchildren, Randy Granitto, Jeff (Lisa) Granitto, Dean (Darla) Granitto, Kristen (Paul) Bradaick, Karlie Young and Jamie (Matthew) Allen; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Alexa, Jonathon, Jenna and Chole.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Root and sisters Helen Torchia and Theresa Kabo.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Youngstown, OH 44515.
