My great grandmother was Kataryzna Zdun from Olpiny, a small city near Swilcza. She married Lukasz Nowak who was from Swilcza and they had many children, one of whom was my grandmother, Tillie.

Anyway, I gotta try! I copied the names of Wisniewski that were of interest to you. I just started researching my father’s Polish family and Vincent Wisniewski, my father’s paternal 2nd great grandfather. Vincent was husband to Annie Wisniewski. Their daughter, Catharine Wisniewski (b1865) married Anthony Mikolawski/Mikolajewski (b1863). Their son, Anthony Mikolajewski (b1887, Skwilno, Plock) married Rose Uczynski (b1894). Their son, Edward Mikolajewski (b1914) married Blanche Wojnisz (1916). All of these people lived in Delaware.

I don't know if you are still on this site but my great-grandfather was Stanleys brother. My great-grandfather's name is Joseph Zdun who married Julia Barcoski. Joseph and Stanley's father was Lucas Zdun who immigrated March 30, 1899 from Swiloza, Austria on the Trave out of Bremen. I tried to follow the link below but it is no longer available. I would love to find out about the family that adopted Stanley's grave in Belgium. Please respond! Thanks

Did the son Stanley serve in World War Ii, and was he killed in December 1944? If so, his "Belgian godfather," who has adopted Stanley's grave in Belgium, would love to hear from the family. You can see messages about this here:

Valerie Wisniewski Shubert, 92, formerly of 1324 South Shore Drive, died Friday, July 20, 2001, at her residence at the
Windsor Court Nursing Home in Naples, Fla.
She was born Jan 25, 1909, in Erie, daughter of the late Frank and Eva Zdunski Wisniewski. She moved to Florida five
years ago.
She worked at General Electric Co., in Erie. She was an active member of the St. Vincent Health Center Auxiliary and a
former member of the St. Peter's Cathedral and St. Jude Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Edward Shubert, on May 18, 1990; and a sister Frances Pamula.
Survivors include a sister, Gabriella Sulzycki of Naples, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may attend funeral Mass at Jude Church chapel, 2801 W. Sixth St.., Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Calvary Mausoleum.
Arrangements are being handled by the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, West 25th and Sassafras streets.

My grandmother was Barbara Zdun who came to New York in 1900 from Swilzca Poland (Galicia).She married in either New York or New Jersey about 1906 and emigrated to Canada with her husband in 1912. She had several brothers and sisters but all contact was lost when she moved to Canada. Do you know the name of the ancestral village of your husbands great grandfather?
