My great grandfather was Moses T Zellers, born 1861 in Susquahana Juniata Pennsylvania. He married Alice C in 1880, they moved to Ohio and later Nebraska. I have only been able to trace the family to this point. I believe he had a brother Jonas, 1855 and another George A 1868. His parents were George and Rebecca. Do you have this branch on your tree? I would greatly appreciate any information.

Thanks

The Levi Raezer I know of would have been the brother-in-law of my great grandfather, John Byron Zellers. His sister, Martha married Levi Raezer.

What I'd be interested in learning about was the two other Zellers siblings, Daniel and Lillian (she may have also gone by Elizabeth) that were living with Levi and Martha in the 1910 census.

My father and his sister know nothing of Levi Raezer, although by coincidence, in the 1930 census there is a Raezer family living next door to them!

Mark Z.
Re: Ephriam Zellers - Catherine Zellers

I recently wrote to Heller's church inquiring about Ephraim and Catharine, and they replied with a list of Zellers tombstones in their Cemetary. They told me that their records had been destroyed in a fire in 1957, but that in the late 1990s, some folks had taken down the names and dates from all the tombstones. Their list had just birth and death years, but I've filled in full dates where I have them.

Ephriam Zellers 3/29/1802 - 7/16/1883
married Catherine Zellers (his wife) 2/12/1800 - 10/21/1883

John Zellers (7/16/1829 -
married Annie Miller Zellers (8/15/1830-9/15/1903)
Mary C. Zellers, born c. 1851
Daniel M. Zellers 9/20/1853 -
Martha born c. 1856 (married Levi Raezer)
Albert K. Zellers 5/18/1859 -
married 1st Mary Weaver (4/6/1864-5/22/1886)
married 2nd Sarah E. (5/3/1862-11/13/1924)
John Byron Zellers (11/13/1862-11/12/1939)
married Annie Hersh (8/3/1864-1959)
Lillian Zellers (8/4/1864-8/4/1864)
Rebecca Zellers born c. 1866-2/10/1956 (married Oscar Hoffecker)

Susanna (Zellers) Muckle (5/12/1838 - 11/11/1916)
married Elam Muckle (3/7/1836)
[hopefully my math is correct and I have the birthdays right. The tombstones read age 78 years 4 months and 16 days for Susanna and 53 years 8 months (or is it 3) 27 days for Elam].

Sarah Anne Zellers born c. 1833
married Henry McCarty (3/7/1829-?)
I believe they are buried in Kanawha, Iowa

Not sure where these fit in:
Mary Zellers 1864-1886
Joel Zellers ? - 1861
Darius Zellers ? - 1871
Mary Zellers 1808-1906
William Zellers 1836-1905

William might be a child of Ephraim and Catharine, but that is just a guess. Mary (1808-1906) might be a sister or a sister-in-law of Ephraim.

I have photographs of the tombstones most of those with full dates, except for John Byron Zellers, who is not buried at Heller's Church.

From the census, I know that Marth Zellers Raezer had 4 children, two of which were living at the time of the census (I think it was 1900) where I found her and her husband.

I recall when I visited the cemetary that there were two little tombstones to the left of Mary W. Zellers' stone, which I wasn't able to read. I wonder if they might be the stones of Darius and Joel.

Perhaps the reason Darius and Joel had only one date was that they were born and died in the same year.
Hi,

I am also researching a Zellers line in Pennsylvania. My oldest known Zellers ancestors are buried at Hellers Church, on the Horseshoe Road, Lancaster, PA.

I recently sent an email to them hoping that they might have some records in their archives, but any such records were destroyed by a fire in 1957.

They did send me a list of the Zellers and Swope tombstones in their cemetary, and there was a William Zellers 1836-1905. I don't know how he connects with my ancestors:

Ephraim Zellers (3/29/1802-7/16/1883)
Catherine (Swope) Zellers (2/12/1800-10/21/1883)

Their children that I'm aware of are:
John (7/16/1829 - 3/10/1896)
Susanna born c. 1839
Sarah Anne born c. 1833

So it is possible that William was one of their children, but I have no records to prove that.

I have photos of Ephraim and Catharine's tombstones, as well as those of John and some of his children.

It sounds like my William would be older than the William thta you are looking for.

Since my last post here, I have been to Salem-Heller's church, on the Horseshoe Road, Lancaster, PA, where Ephraim and Catharine, John Zellers and Anna Miller Zellers are buried along with Albert K. Zellers, his two wives, Mary W. Zellers and Sarah E. Zellers, Daniel Zellers and Lillian Zellers.

I have pictures of their tombstones. If anyone wants copies, send me a note. When I have more time, I'll post a GED in the family tree with all my Zellers results.

In some of my travels, I've learned that Catharine's maiden name was likely Swope and there are Swopes buried at Heller's church which, if not confirming that conclusion, at least gives it a little bit more credibility.

Also, note the spelling of Catharine.
Looking for Aaron E. Zellers, Elmer Zellers, Eliason Zellers

I am looking for information on Aaron E. Zellers. He quite possibly went by the name A. E. Zellers, Elmer Zellers, or Elison Zellers.
I believe that his father was Andrew H.Zellers born in Union County, Pa. December 16, 1843. From the probate records of Andrew, he list four grandchildren, which are the same names listed in the 1910 census to Aaron Zellers and Ida M.
Aaron lived a tragic life and died tragically as well. The following was what I found in the Newspaper regarding his death.
A.E. Zellers of Shelburn meets Deat on Southeastern Railroad
Both Legs Cut Off.

By Special Correspondent (April 18, 1911)
Shelburn, Ind. April 18 A.E. Zellers, 40 years old, living near Glendora,
was found by the section hands of the Southeastern railroad as they were going to work
near that town this morning. Lying dead by the side of the railroad tracks. Both legs were cut off.
Zellers was a married man and had four children. His body was picked up and brought to the McHugh
and Podgett morgue here where Coroner Padgett will hold an inquest late in the day. He is suppose to have
been killed by a freight train last night about 10 o'clock.

Aaron is listed as being a coal miner in the 1910 census. In the 1880 census Andrew's wife is listed as Lina and a son Elison? The spelling is hard to determine. I believe that this Elison is one in the same person as Aaron E. Zellers in the 1910 census. I have found no records as to the 1900 census of Aaron.
Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated. you can e-mail me at zellersr@yahoo.com

I'm searching for descendants of Frank Zellers, born about 1883. He married in 1906 to Mabel Duffy of Ottawa, LaSalle Co., Illinois. Children were: Margaret (Zellers) Schwarz, Evelyn (Zellers) Brown, Mabel Zellers and Louise (Zellers) Weppler.

Your Albert Zeller is a different person. Albert Andrew Zeller, son of Nicholas, etc. died in Napolean, Henry County, Ohio. His children, of which I have 3 were born there also. His wife's name is Gertrude. BTW, Gertrude lived to be just shy of 100 years!

There are many Zoellers in Germany. Ours came from Luxembourg, traced back to the 1600's. But of course, they are Germanic.

Raymond is the son of Albert, who is the son of Nicolas. Nicolas is the son of Francis who is our common ancestor. Nicolas is my Great-grandfather's step-brother. Nicolas was born August 25, 1838 in Bourscheid, Diekirch, Luxembourg. He landed in America on August 1, 1846 with his siblings. His mother died around 1850, and his Father, Francis remarried. The son of that second marriage is my Great-grandfather!

There is someone who already has your genealogy. I'm not sure which family of this line.
