MOLINE, Ill. -- Eldon W. Ziegler, 93, of Moline, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, Ill.
Services were today at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cross Lutheran Church in Moline.
Mr. Ziegler was born Nov. 8, 1906, in Carbon Cliff, Ill., the son of John and Emma Hintz Ziegler. He married Elenora Vollrath on Sept. 4, 1937, in Davenport. She died in 1993.
He worked at Deere and Co. in Moline as an industrial engineer for 36 years, retiring in 1971.
Survivors include two sons, Eldon Ziegler and his wife, Fran, of Clarkville, Md. and Dale Ziegler and his wife, Marie, of Bettendorf; eight grandchildren; and a brother, John Ziegler Jr., of East Moline.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife, and a daughter, Karen.
