Looking for any information on my Ziemann ancestors from Wisconsin. My ancestor came to the US approximatly 1870 supposedly to avoid conscription in the Franco-Prussian War. Ferdinand Ziemann was born 3 Feb 1840 in West Prussia, Germany. He died 2 Aug 1901 in Fall Creek, WI. In his application for naturalization he cited that he had been a subject of William of Germany.

Ferdinand married Wilhelmiene Bruesewitz. Wilhelmiene was born 21 June 1854 in Pommern (possibly Sabes), Germany. She died 16 Sept 1934 in Fall Creek, WI. It is possible that they came together as a married couple or seperately as I don't know where or when they married. Wilhelmiene's mother and at least one brother, Henry, also settled in Fall Creek. They are all buried at St. James Lutheran Church.

Ferdinand and Wilhelmiene had 5 children: Julius (who stayed in Fall Creek and operated a bank and a Hardware store); Gustave Henry Ziemann (b. 1877 in Fall Creek) who settled in Southwick, Idaho: Herman (b. 1880 Fall Creek and never married, d. 1934 Southwick, Idaho); Amanda Ziemann Sizer (b. 1881, d. 1902 left one son who lived in Texas), and Adelheid (b. 1883, d.1885 in Fall Creek).

Gustave Henry Ziemann (parents Ferdinand Ziemann and Wilhelmiene Bruesewitz) was born 3 July 1877 in Fall Creek, WI. He died 23 May 1934 in Lewiston, Idaho. Gustave married Wilda H. Keeney (they met in Kendrick, Idaho). Wilda H. was born 31 Mar 1886 in near Brownsville, Oregon. From approximately 1906 on they operated Ziemann Brothers Store in Southwick, Idaho. They had the following children: George Allen, Daniel, Jane, Warner "Ike", and the twins Robert and John.
