More info re my Message #6:
My father, Joseph Albert Ziemba, entered the
USA at Ellis Island. I do not have the date
of entry, but expect to be able to get that
info as soon as the Ellis Island files are
put on-line later this year.
I understand he stayed briefly with relatives
in New Jersey, and then moved to the Three
Rivers, Massachusetts area, staying also with
relatives there. He then moved to Chicopee,
Massachusetts, where his brother John also lived.
My father remained in Chicopee until his death.
You will note in my Message #62, that my
father's grandmother on his father's side,
was Maria Sypek. Not Syrek, but so close that
I'll have to check the spellings again.
