Ziemba, Chester

Chester F. "Cookie" Ziemba, 52, of Franklin Street, Old Forge, died Friday at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.

Born in Old Forge, he was a son of Shirley (Tompkins) Ziemba, Old Forge, and the late Chester J. Ziemba. He was a graduate of the Old Forge High School. He last worked for Globe Securities, Scranton, and also worked for Mark IV Industries, Old Forge, Lackawanna County Ransom Convalescent Home, Ransom, and Mid Valley Nursing Home, Eynon. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Cathedral of the Polish National Catholic Church, Scranton, and former member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Lynn; and son, Christopher.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, the former Diane Jefferys; son, Jamie, at home; brothers, Robert, Joseph and Leonard, all of Old Forge; nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Palermo & Zawacki Funeral Home Inc., 409 N. Main St., Old Forge, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Cathedral, Scranton. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Scranton. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
