Hi Danny,

I have a copy of John W. Ziemba's marriage license. Because the borders in Europe moved around so much, the birthareas may not match what we were told. He was married on 11/24/1909 in Chicopee Mass. He is listed as Jan Ziemba, age 26. He lived at 39 Grove Street in Chicopee MA and was listed as a merchant. His birthplace was Austria, father's name Wojciech Ziemba and his mother's name Mary Kulig. His wife was Mary Kszenieanska (I called her Baci Manya) and was 22 years old. Her address was 124 Exchange Street in Chicopee. Her occupation was spinner, Father's name Jakop Kszenieanska and Mother was Antonia Przybylowicz.

My Aunt Ann Greene (nee Ziemba) made a tape of family stories. I had them trnscibed and should look for the file for you. Are you Barbara's child?

Hello,

I happened on your message and can add to the information. Evelyn Nietupski (nee Ziemba) is my aunt. My father is Stanley John Ziemba, son of John W. Ziemba, brother to your grandfather, Josef. John came over to Ellis where an error occurred when the spokesman tried to state "Chicago". The guard thought he said "Chicopee" and sent all the Poles to the Springfield train station. A pastor from St. Stanislaus picked them up and brought them back to Chicopee. My father married Wanda H. Boratis of Chicopee. Stanley was a retied high school principle of Chicopee Comprehensive High School. I lived in Chicpee until 1971 when I moved the California.

Wanda Ziemba

My uncle and my mother both remember Aunt Kate and Uncle Joe from Johnstown as children. They grew up in N.Y. but my grandfather was born in Johnstown, PA. His name was Walter Lech and his siblings were Louis, Theodore(Teddy), Grace, and Catherine. My mother and uncle said that they were cousins as far as they remember. If you know anything about any of this my mothers name is Rose and her siblings are walter (Butch), Carol, David, and Michael. Please let me know if any of this sounds familiar. If it helps any my mother was born in 1946 which makes her 62 right now. She remembers aunt Kate.

Lisa

For about 6 years now off and on I have been looking for my LECH/ KELLER family. Mostly the LECH side who lived in Johnstown for many years. My Great grandfather John Lech and his 5 children lived there--Catherine, Grace, Walter, Louis, and Theodore. My uncle tells me stories of aunt kate kubic, spells the last name and tells me he visited with them from time to time. He said her husbands name was Joseph. Anyway, I'm told that would make us cousins of some sort. I just found your family tree info, and after not finding too much info on my elusive Lech side, it was nice to know that I found someone.
Stanislaw Ziemba and Anna Madej

I'm stuck researching my great grandfather and mother. Stanley (b: 1893)(d: 11 Jan 1957) (m: 1917 to Anna Madej) They both immigrated separately from Galicia in 1913. I found Anna's obit, and she had 2 sisters and a brother in Poland. (b: 2 Feb 1897) (d: 22 May 1986). They lived in Detroit Michigan and buried at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Any help what so ever would be greatly appreciated.
~ Stacey (Ziemba)

I am still trying to find my cousins. I tried all I can. I do not know their married names. Although Thonas would obviously carry the name Ziemba.

Cheryl Cynthia Thomas and I were close. I did recieve an email once stating that this person was cynthia's daughter. But when I asked for further info the person never replied. Nor is it here on the board. Still looking and hope someone can help.

I hope you still can get this message 8 years later now...But today I did some researching and I have linked alot of what you previously mentioned.

It seems as though your Great Uncle Paul is my Great GrandFather. Paul married Angelina (maiden name unknown at this point). They had 5 children. Olga, Blaine, Angeline, Violet and Robert. I found they came from Huta, Poland and Paul was also in WWII as his Draft Registration was available on the Ancestry website. Paul was born Feb 11, 1896 and his wife 1897. Not sure of the month and day.

Robert was my grandfather. Robert married my grandmother Eleanor, they also had five children...Robert, Deborah, David, Loretta and Thomas.

Deborah is my mother.

Also, Paul worked in the Bethlehem Steel Mill in Johnstown, as well as my grandfather, Robert.

I have yet to find anything else out but I am still digging. Other than the WWII Draft Registration and 1930 Census Records showing where Paul and Angeline live, this website turned out to be pretty useless unfortunately.

No. I am the Ziemba. I am engaed to be married to a Jankowiak actually. Keeping the polish nationality. :-)
As I think I mentioned before, my grandfather was Robert J. Ziemba. He passed away in 1993. He was married to Eleanor Troyan (Ziemba), together they had 5 children, my mother Deborah, Robert, Loretta, Thomas and David. My mother was born in 1957 and my grandmother passed away when my mom was only 15...wow, so that puts my grandmothers death around 1972 and I was born in 1978. Once I find out who my great grandparents are, this might be easier for me to follow the ziemba line. Right now...i have no information to go off of other than what i have already stated.

If anyone has anything to help, I would be greatful...

Tiffany
