I'm trying to locate the grave of my grandad's grandmother in Springfield, MA.
Her name was Pauline (CARON) ZIMMERMANN (born January 1826 or 1829, possibly Exin, Kreis Schubin, Province of Posen, Germany / died December 18, 1902 in Westfield, MA but buried in Springfield, MA).
She emigrated to the US in the summer of 1888 after the death of her husband August ZIMMERMANN, arriving in New York (Castle Garden) on board the "Ems" from Bremen on October 9, 1888. She joined her younger daughter Bertha (ZIMMERMANN) LANGE and her family in Springfield, MA.
Hermann C LANGE and his son Otto had been the proprietors of the "Park Square Hotel" in Westfield, MA from about 1900/1901 to about 1912/13. During that time the LANGE Family and Pauline (CARON) ZIMMERMANN were living in Westfield, MA, where Pauline died in 1902.
The Register of Deaths for Westfield (No.222/1902) says that she was buried in Springfield, MA. Probably a cemetery lot already existed there for the LANGE Family.
Can anyone help me in finding the gravesite as there are quite a few cemeteries in Springfield and its quite difficult to do the search from Germany.
Thanks very much for any information about where to start to make the search as efficient as possible.
